Will overclocking ASUS TUF Gaming VG258QM shorten the monitor's lifespan?

From ASUS support FAQ "[LCD Monitor] How to set up overclocking for LCD monitors?":
2.Please note that Over Clocking function/performance depends on the GPUs or contents displayed. ASUS only provides this function. The performance or any side effect after activation is not guaranteed.
If performance after activation isn't guaranteed, what are the monitor specs without OC?

Thanks

Don't worry about it. Just plug it in and set to 280Hz. They have to note this kinda stuff because oc is oc.
I'm on VG279QM @280Hz for 4 months now, works normally.

Im not sure about the performance tho, bet someone else here can tell you more about it because I've seen '8QM discussions before, try and look it up.
I just wouldn't recommend TN in 2021, go for IPS.
