best 240hz monitor?
best 240hz monitor?
Hey guys I'm looking for the absolute best of the best monitor in terms of both Input lag and response time, I have tried Benq's XL2546K and Aorus's KD25F, but I had to return them due to minor issues. I've decided to wait for the XG2431, but I'm not sure anymore since I don't know when it's gonna get released, Do you guys think the VG259QM competes with XL2546K in terms of speed?

Re: best 240hz monitor?
I own a vg279qm and its blazing fast at 280hz.
Re: best 240hz monitor?
I used these panels: vg279qm, vg252qx, vg272x, xv273x, vg258qm, aw2518hf, xf252qx, xl2540, 27GK750F.
Now I have Acer xv272ux and it's the best 240hz panel in my experience, no input lag, clear motion, also it's 2k and two times pricy then all previous, but you said you wanna the best )

If you don't use backlight strobing/blur reduction then you don't need to wait for XG2431, most people don't use it.Nm_kng wrote: ↑01 Jun 2021, 12:42Hey guys I'm looking for the absolute best of the best monitor in terms of both Input lag and response time, I have tried Benq's XL2546K and Aorus's KD25F, but I had to return them due to minor issues. Maybe you'll be more interested in those 360Hz panels if u can spend extra: PG259QN, AW2521H, X25, NXG253R, AG254FG, XV252Q. Some of these are still not released I believe. But I'd say AW2521H would be best buy within 360Hz options.
Im also on VG279QM and wouldn't go higher. That seems to be the point of diminishing returns for me.

Re: best 240hz monitor?
360hz is way off my budget (at least in my country), the XL2546K costs $600 here. I don't use blur reduction, and do you think the VG259QM is fast enough to compete with TN's like XF252Q or XL2546K oh and what do you think of Aorus's FI25F.Discorz wrote: ↑02 Jun 2021, 02:34If you don't use backlight strobing/blur reduction then you don't need to wait for XG2431, most people don't use it.Nm_kng wrote: ↑01 Jun 2021, 12:42Hey guys I'm looking for the absolute best of the best monitor in terms of both Input lag and response time, I have tried Benq's XL2546K and Aorus's KD25F, but I had to return them due to minor issues. Re: best 240hz monitor?
According to reviewers numbers TN response times are still tiny bit faster on average than fast IPS. BUT in real world/to the eye the difference is extremely small, so we could say they are same. I would even say IPS looks better when comparing monitors with ufo ghosting test (a/symmetrical blur). Therefore buying TN in 2021 doesn't make much sense. So I would recommend IPS since it a futureproof option.
I'm making this UFO Motion Test Collection wich u can use to compare motion performance between monitors and see the differences.
If your budget is $400 max than consider MAG251RX, VG259QM/VG279QM, maybe even XB253Q.
AW2521HF and 27GN750 cost around the same but don't have blur reduction.
I'd note that 27" worked much better for me. So I would recommend it even tho many people don't like this pixel density combo (1080p 27")
