Re: BenQ XL2720Z Firmware V4
Hello,
There is no such bug in V5.
If you flashed the firmware yourself or if you just bought the monitor, if you are using "Blur reduction" with a "Vertical Total 1500" or "VT 1350" tweak, you may wind up with a black screen if the Strobe Phase is higher than 049 (120hz) or 059 (100hz). To fix this, set the strobe phase to 000. This is because after a "recall/reset all", the strobe phase defaults to "100", as this is Benq's default for trying to reduce input lag by up to 1 frame (a high strobe phase doesn't work with Vertical Total tweaks). This is easy to fix.
1) power off (do NOT unplug; unlock codes only work after a "soft" power off, not AC power off).
2) hold button #4 for 5 seconds, then press the power button.
3) keep button #4 pressed until the screen appears. If you do *NOT* get the "Logo" window, you did it correct. If you did get the Benq/Zowie logo screen, you didn't do it correctly.
Then 4: press button #4 to enter the service menu and change the strobe phase.
