Chris, in-panel framegen could fake 600–1200 Hz without more bandwidth, but adds latency and artifacts. True 4K @ 1000 Hz needs major panel and link advances, so we’ll see smarter tricks and ~500 Hz panels first.

Putting the frame rate first and unlocking your FPS may be preferable if you are more concerned with performance and responsiveness. However,build now gg you could lock your FPS at 160–165 and enable G-Sync to enhance the visual smoothness if you find screen tearing or stuttering irritating.
