Re: TN vs IPS - IPS glow sucks and I hate the internet!

sounds like miniLED is the way for you then
you cant predict IPS glow because it varies even among the same models, so you'll just have to accept blacks wont look good off-angle

The PG27AQDP cannot reach the MPRT that the XG2431 can during strobing.
Maybe, but everything else is better and the clarity is close enough. Not to mention it's not an unreliable POS:

Re: XG2431 Alternatives in 2024?

OLED BFI can only go as low as the max refresh rate, hence it is useless for emulating CRT-like motion clarity.

Then he should consider the Asus 480hz OLED, it has BFI at 120hz and 240hz.

Yep, XG272 OLED can only strobe at most 4.2ms persistance at 60hz, which is the same as 240hz native, and ...

Re: Driver 441.08: Ultra-Low Latency Now with G-SYNC Support

For 240hz+ monitors I think "On" might be better than "Ultra" due to the latter cutting down too many frames on faster displays. On my 360hz OLED I get capped to 327fps, which is alot compared to slower rates.
The V-Sync lag penalty will be there of course, but at 360hz the extra latency caused by ...

Re: Viewsonic XG272-2K OLED - BlurBusters Verified? BFI?

And the ASUS monitor with strobing got bad red from unboxed because something regarding the black frame being terrible

Surprise, most people dislike BFI because sacrificing VRR is needed and it also impacts brightness levels, in an era where 250 nits is considered "dim".

The real advances in ...

Surprised no one has even bothered to buy one and test it (after all you CAN return it on amzon as long as you aren't abusing the policy).
There's nothing much to test, it works just like LG OLEDs, so you can expect better clarity at the expense of decreased brightness and perceivable flickering.

No, get the Viewsonic OLED. It's the obvious upgrade from the XG2431.

Re: LG CX vs. RetroTINK-4K BFI - confusing...

I think 480hz OLED with rolling scan-type BFI is the way going forward, Chief. But unfortunately most people are still unaware of the benefits of blur reduction. Just look at JayZ's review of the Viewsonic OLED, which offers the best BFI implementation among OLED monitors. Completely brushed aside ...

LG 32GS95UE-B 480hz 1080p - Sub 1ms (blur-free) Persistence possible with BFI

The Reviews are out and, as expected, the motion clarity of this monitor is unprecedented, unlike everything we've see so far:

But sadly, there is NO BFI implementation whatsoever, and this is obviously because LG ...
