Re: Best monitor for FPS.

He said that he's getting over 144 FPS, so he isn't suffering from stuttering. And he didn't complain about input lag, nor tearing. His problem is blur. So I don't think he needs G-Sync.

Now, if it's still blurry with Lightboost ON, maybe it's because of ghosting. Maybe the overdrive is OFF?

Re: Best monitor for FPS.

Wait, doesn't G-Sync behave like VSync for framerates above the refresh rate of the monitor?
Why would he need a G-Sync monitor?

Re: Best monitor for FPS.

Which FPS games do you play? And how many frames per second do you get? If you get a constant 144 FPS, and you still feel too much motion blur, then you need tu use a backlight strobing technology. The Asus VG248QE supports Lightboost. If you get a lower framerate (such as 60 FPS), then you can try ...

Re: PSA: The purpose and origin of 144hz.

His monitor obviously wasn't running at 60 Hz in ULMB mode, because the minimum refresh rate supported by ULMB is 85 Hz.

How can CRT monitors change their resolution?

Everyone knows CRT monitors can display a number of different resolutions without looking blurry like an LCD monitor would. I just don't understand how it is possible. For example, let's take a CRT monitor with a maximum resolution of 1600x1200. Aren't there 1600x1200 red phosphors, green phosphors ...

Well yes, that website says 8 bit, that's where everyone else got the information. But I've never seen Acer mention it was 8 bit.

Re: BenQ XL2420G Release Info

I like it. - Contrast: normal for a TN panel. The blacks aren't very deep, but the brightness is pretty good. - Colors: normal for a TN panel. I don't notice any banding in the following test: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gradient.php#gradient-h.png - Viewing angles: normal for a TN panel. During no...
