Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV

Gsync + Vsync + Reflex doesn't give the perfect frames which leads to artifacts using pulsar so it's not as cut and dry as it should be.
I rather take the input latency con than the imperfect frame pacing reflex gives that causes artifacts with Gsync pulsar in the games I play.
Reliably lossless ...

Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV

Honestly though my testing it's been really frustrating because in some games the motion clarity is noticeable, in other games it's not and it has 100% to do with precise frame times.
If the frame times aren't ABSOULTELY perfect to what the gsync module considers "stable" gsync pulsar is ...

Re: new monitors causing eye strain , how is that possible ?

Thanks for your reply! But now I'm wondering, how does a YAG phosphor LCD panel differ? (I'll look into that right away.)
And why would that help?

I might've thrown a bit too many technical terms for you, as you're a newcomer.
Let's frame it in this way:
You have 2 classes of displays on the ...

Re: Is There Still a Future for 240Hz+ IPS panels in 2026?

Obsolete? It remains a very good, exceptional screen among IPS displays tho. Even though its price is sill very high. I heard that the brightness would be low on new screens with Pulsar enabled, that would be a shame.

• Too high of a pricepoint, which can get you one of the Pulsar models.
• The ...

Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV

Is this because 360 Hz sample-and-hold already has very low persistence (~2.8 ms), making the clarity gain from Pulsar relatively small? Or could something else be happening?

Pulsar should be much clearer than the panel's refreshtime (~2,77778 ms). This isn't the issue you're having.
You simply ...

Re: new monitors causing eye strain , how is that possible ?

There's no "ultimate guide".
It's all about trial & error.
Start with standard YAG phosphor LCDs (e.g.: majority of FHD TN/VA/IPS +200Hz LCD models, AOC Q24G2A & some 27" QHD 120-165hz models)
Your specific model is a KSF/PFS (wide color gamut) LCD.
OLED isn't a solution you should exhaust until ...

Re: Is There Still a Future for 240Hz+ IPS panels in 2026?

Really?
Because I was thinking, it's been years since I've tried IPS monitors. I tried one or two three years ago, so I figured they'd changed the panels since then and improve this area since now OLED is the new focused area. It's disheartening to read you say that...

Just to be specific, I was ...

It's interesting that you aren't able to use the XL2566X+.
Have you considered that it might be panel coating related? TN's to have a severe matte coating, which can affect eye comfort.
I suggest trying cheaper panels first, such as the AOC Q25G4SR.

Can DSR be used with these monitors?
Forced DSC through DP1.4, so the answer is no.
