Whats up with this 235Hz trick? Why not 280Hz OD 60 or 120?

I've tested the 235Hz, like Anonymous125698 proposed. And that trick did a good job for me along with axaro1's OP settings (shadow boost etc).

Hi! Monitor vg259qm. Guys, could you tell me what monitor settings you use in the Varzon game? I can't find out the optimal settings for myself. ICC profile is installed with rtings. And on the windows desktop, the text already cuts my eyes, firstly it's kind of grainy, and secondly, white cuts my eyes too much. Another question is whether to enable 10bit via CRU, does it make sense and whether it affects the display quality. Video card from AMD, maybe someone will share their experience and settings for reference settings. Thank you. Please don't throw stones at me)

Hello all users of the VG259QM. I want to share a wonderful discovery regarding the overdrive behavior of this monitor. I was tinkering with custom refreshrates with CRU and I discovered something strange. The overdrive setting "100" does not function the same way at 235Hz than it does with 240Hz. At 235Hz the overdrive setting 100 gives me the best results I have personally been able to get from this monitor in terms of motion clarity, even better than the 280Hz 120 OD setting. So I suggest you all try this out, I will be using 235Hz OD100 from now on.

I don't know if this is a bug or what that the OD100 is completely unusable at 240Hz but the perfect setting at 235Hz.

In the CRU application I just use manual timing and change the refreshrate to 235Hz and that's all.

Take care.

Hello Anonymous125698 can you explain to me in detail how to configure the CRU to put in 235hz? I'm a bit of a layman in this program, I put it in but I think it didn't work well in the UFO test feeling like it was at 60hz but in games it looks perfect I'm confused.

Just got this monitor. Still messing around with the settings but had a few questions:

What do folks recommend for games like Warzone where I'm fluctuating between 100-140fps. G-Sync / 60OD?ttings

Based on some of the posts here, if I want to use ELMB Sync, should I only be using it if I can get 200+ fps?

Any other settings / tips specific to Warzone? Thanks in advance.

I'm losing my mind here. I have this monitor and have tried all different settings. When I start CSGO the refresh rate of the monitor goes down to 60Hz for 2-3 seconds (I can see this on my other monitor while starting the game). This is completely normal and happens for everyone, but then the refresh rate can change to 85hz or 144hz at random. It seems to happen 25-33% of the time I start the game.

I googled some and people on earlier monitors fixed this by changing a "deepsleep displayport" mode, but this one does not have that setting, so I have no idea what to do. I changed displayport cable to the one I got with my 24G2W1G4, but that changed nothing.

Should I buy another cable or just return the monitor and buy another brand?

The blacking out issue might be because you need to put the timing in CRU to exact. If it does still black out then maybe you need a better displayport cable or use the cable that came with the monitor. I had blacking out too but I bought a supra DP cable(the second revision) and no more blacking out.

I'm actually back to 280Hz OD120 because it is super clear and with lower input lag for games like overwatch. I'm not personally that sensitive to the overshoot of OD120 so it doesn't bother me and it is a bit clearer afterall than the 235Hz OD100 but then again there is no noticeable overshoot in 235Hz OD100 so each to their own. In some games the 280Hz OD120 is better than others. I'll probably just switch between these 2 modes for different games, they are both so good I cannot make up my mind.

I found out that enabling the shadow boost introduces noticeable input lag(at least for me) so I boost the shadows with my amd settings and I increase brightness in the color settings and that seems to speed up some of the transitions without input lag.

Same, I use 280hz OD120 for Overwatch since it provides the lowest input lag and the fastest low-artifact moving UFO.

For games where I can sacrifice a few ms of input lag for better clarity (like Apex) I prefer 280hz ELMB even though I can hardly push 200+fps consistently.

Really? I get a bad headache and eye fatigue from using ELMB even for like 30 mins.

Don't you get that or have you found a some way to alleviate the symptoms?
I struggled a little bit with headaches at first but I guess I got used to strobing since I don't get them anymore.
