Asus VG259QM vs. Dell AW2521HF
Asus VG259QM vs. Dell AW2521HF
hello everyone, I'm going to buy one of these monitors but I'm really confused. I play competitive call of duty Cold War and with my set up I can reach 170-240 fps (yeah, fps are really variable). I have a viewsonic xg2402 144hz and I want to upgrade to 240hz. Well, what I would is a monitor with the lowest input lag possible, I'm not really interested in picture quality, I only want the best performance in game considering the fps I can reach. Sorry for my English, but I've tried to do the best

Won't really be any difference.

The VG feels kinda cheap and AW does not. If you don't need backlight strobing go for AW. Please don't worry about input lag, both are great at it.

What about motion blur of these monitors?
Re: Asus VG259QM vs. Dell AW2521HF
If u are sensitive to motion blur you might want to consider MBR (Motion Blur Reduction, backlight strobing, ELMB, ULMB...

AW2521HF doesn't provide such feature but VG259QM/VG279QM does. If you were ok with your XG2402 you'd be good with AW.
Here's some example of how classical sample-and-hold (s-a-h) monitors compare to backlight strobing ones. AW2521HF would look basically the same as MAG2521RX s-a-h ufo, and there is VG279QM wich should be the same as VG259QM.
VG's ELMB implementation is not ideal - it is very good in 200-280Hz range but below 200 it starts to introduce some inverse ghosting/corona artifacts and it can not be adjusted. So if your framerate get bellow that you might see it.

thank you very much for the replies.
I was also considering the benq xl2546 which costs 420 euros (used) on Amazon warehouse in my country. It’s a little bit over budget for me (400€). The asus would cost 390€ (new) and the dell aw 350€ (New), so I’m really uncertain.

Yeah, Zowie is the king when it comes to gaming, mbr... rather consider XL2546K, the newer updated version if you're going all the way.
I remember when I upgraded from 144 TN to 240 TN, expecting it will be amazing but I was kinda disappointed because motion blur was still present, the 240Hz smoothness was there but not the clarity. And the monitor was considered very good (AW2518HF, no mbr).
So if you want to feel like you have really upgraded, get mbr monitor, it can always be toggled on or off. But you know best what you need, so good luck .
Btw MSI MAG251RX is very good.

I dont think the msi is available anywhere anymore.
I am having a very hard time deciding between the BenQ XL2546K and the Asus VG259QM though...
