Hello there,

I'm having this issue when enabling/disabling adaptive sync in osd - the picture dimmes out on windows level, but not internally within display. I say that because mouse cursor stays perfectly bright but the rest dimmes out as you can see in video.
To fix it I would need to reset display driver by e.g. changing refresh rate and reverting it back. Osd settings like brightness and contrast stay at same values, they do not change.
Interestingly this issue happens 90% of the time, not always.

It feels lik a a bug on some driver level but both my graphics and windows are up to date.
What can I try to do to fix this?



EDIT:

Soliton 1 - use HDMI cable instead, not a good solution, hdmi is limited to 240Hz max.
Half fix - plug your cable into other gpu DisplayPort, problem still occurs but less often.

Is it something to do with the 280hz mode? Have you tried creating a cru 280hz entry that way you don't need to select overclock on the monitor? Factory reset? BTW Maybe it's placebo, but I've been using hdmi with this monitor and it feels much more responsive in game. I would recommend using it if you don't need 280hz.

I kinda want to fully utilize this monitor.
I'll test included hdmi cable and compare my previous lag results.

I've seen this happen on AMD cards before. No idea why.
I saw this on my XL2746S when I was briefly testing freesync on a AMD r9 290X. I think I managed to fix it by unplugging and replugging in the cable or something.

I just found out this only happens on DP cable, not on HDMI. But I don't want this to be the workaround, cause then I'm stuck with 240Hz max.
So it's very possible that AMD drivers do this. I don't have any other gpus to test on.
U used XL2746S with non-supported freesync gpu, nice

I updated my reaction time chart. Added HDMI 240Hz and it seems to be slower than DP, but just barely.

R9 290X is an officially supported freesync GPU. The first GPUs that supported Freesync were "Some" of the 200 series cards.
The 285X and 290X were officially supported, even the 260 was supported. But the 280X (based on the HD 7970) was not supported, unless this changed sometime later. There seems to be confusion about this though.

I know my R7 370 did not support freesync so i figured why would 200 series work.
