Acer x25,,Asus pg259qn or Benq 2456k for PS5

Post by Ecaroh24 » 02 Jul 2021, 06:57

Looking for a new monitor for Ps5

Currently have a benq Rl2755 but that only does 60hz wanted a 4k monitor but confused if it's even a viable option for low input lag and high fps on ps5

Since most games seem to run at a lower resolution than 4k at 120hz and even at 60hz
People seem to enable performance mode

I know I wouldn't be getting much benefit from the 360hz on ps5 but figure they have the best 1080p panels

Unless I'm completely wrong about the 4k thing

Think I'm going to pull the trigger on the predator x25

Unless someone can convince me of 4k and it's benefits when it comes to ps5 gaming

Is this for PS5 only or also for some PC gaming?

Just ps5 no Pc at all I know 360hz are useless for Ps5 but the 1080p panels themselves have to be better in terms of colors and motion blur even at lower refresh rates

And I would get a 4k monitor but confused if it would have more input lag having to upscale 1080p and 2k to fit the screen because I highly doubt next gen consoles will run anything in true 4k without having to lower resolutions to get better than 30 fps

But I have no problem getting a 4k monitor if the input lag doesn't go over like 12ms although 8ms on these 1080p monitors at 60hz sounds sweet

Buying 360Hz for console would be a total waste of money.
Get something more reasonable like 1080p 144-165Hz or 1440p - fast IPS panels from 2020 and up (there are a few from 2019)
Resolution has nothing to do with color and motion performance. Higher resolution can increase lag since the console gpu has to work harder (gpu bound) plus u get lower framerate. For competitive gaming 1080p would be best in terms of input lag.

Yeah you're probably right I just don't want to be stuck with a blury monitor I'm fine with 1080p

But the benq Rl2755 I have is nice in terms of input lag and the colors I can live with but the motion blur as soon as you twitch the camera around is awful

Guess I'll try more research lol

Did some more research and I think I'll either go with

benq zowie xl2546k
Because tn panels just look more crt like to my eyes

Or the

LG 27GP83B-B
Because Rtings gave it a 8ms input lag at 60hz
And it looks decent just not sure how it'll handle downsampling a 4k signal or upscaling a 1080p signal from the ps5 and if the former and the latter would introduce noticeable lag on the monitor or from the ps5 when it's outputting a 4k signal

Just want to make a choice lol

TN panels are getting outdated now, wouldn't recommend it, especially for console gaming. Fast IPS is becoming a standard and it can have same motion performance. New IPS monitors also have better input lag than older TN.

These are some I'd recommend u if u were on PC:

1080p 144Hz IPS: don't really need anything better that this
BenQ EX2510 / EX2710
Asus VG249Q

1440p 165Hz IPS:
Dell S2721DGF
HP 27i
MSI MAG274QRF-QD
LG 27GP850
LG 27GP83B
LG 27GN850

Also downgrading to 25" wouldn't be a smart move.

I'll probably try the LG 27gp83b and see if I can stand the ips glow and if I can't I'll just give it away and get the benq

Hi, What did you decide ?
I want to buy a monitor for Halo Infinite. I'm undecided between Benq XL2540k, Msi MAG251RX, XG2431 and LG 27GP83b. I'll be playing 120hz Halo mostly.(Series X)

The Halo Championship Series also uses the Benq XL2540k. This is confusing me and I'm about to buy the XL2540k.

(I am sorry for my English)
