Freesync Monitor 240hz IPS 1Ms

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

Freesync Monitor 240hz IPS 1Ms

Post by TonyNeenz » 06 Jan 2021, 05:05

I have the Lenovo Legion Y25-25. It has AMD Freesync Premium, now is that similar to GSYNC? in the OSD i have freesync and HDR turned off because i read it causes input lag ? I honestly cant tell the difference when freesync is on or off. But i have been experiencing delays while playing Cold War and Apex Legends. It just doesnt feel snappy or crisp. In NVCP, i have vsync as "use default 3D setting" triple buffer off, prerendered frames to 1, and everything else default. Any advice? I would like to game with that snappy crisp feeling like on my old BenQ TN panel.

Turn Vsync ON in NVCP, OFF in games, Set a frame limit to 3fps less than your monitors max. Input lag from going freesync/gsync on is negligable. HDR causes more input lag than variable refresh rate can. Here is an example from a random monitor test scores taking from rtings

INPUT LAG

Native Resolution
1.6 ms
Native Resolution @ 60Hz
9.2 ms
Variable Refresh Rate
2.0 ms
Variable Refresh Rate @ 60Hz
11.9 ms
10 Bit HDR
4.1 ms
Black Frame Insertion (BFI)
5.5 ms
