Re: What improved my hitreg/mouse tracking/desync in CS2
Well I'm bored so I end up writing this post to explain why this post is relevant.
On CS:GO the optimization between the screen refresh rate and the FPS were 120 Hz / 144 Hz @ 300 FPS, which is double the refresh rate on average. And then came 240Hz screens and Valve changed the FPS to 400.
So knowing that CS 2 is extremely demanding and not yet fully optimized and that the vast majority of players have computers closer to €1500/€2000 than €5000, it is normal to want to purify as best as possible.
As an indication with my ridiculous RTX 3060 and i5 13600KF the FPS fluctuations are too great above 300 fps so quite naturally I block them at 300 and to be sure that the feeling is crisp as desired in the game, MS low to have the least input lag, excellent hitreg, responsive, fast and fluid game I sacrificed 44 Hz of my screen to put 100 Hz with 300 constant FPS I am 3 times above my refresh rate and my game is The best. I specify that I play in native resolution 1920x1080 to justify 300 FPS max because we all know that on a 4/3 resolution we have more FPS so we can block them higher.
As for DPI, I think we should follow Valve's guideline, if they decide to use this number of DPI as a reference it shouldn't be trivial.
There are also people who said that it is better to play with the native DPI of your mouse (often 800) and others who said that when you play in 16:9 resolution it is better to play with 800 DPI. In short, for my part I jumped on the bandwagon and got used to the new valve DPI reference to have 1.25 @ 800 DPI when before I played at 1.80 @ 400 DPI (for your information I am lvl 10 on Faceit with 1.45 of K/D so in all humility I was not born last rain)
The Hz of the mouse is strictly personal, however if you select 125 Hz and your game does not shake, there is a problem. The standard is 1000 Hz or sometimes, more rarely, 500 Hz
The way counter-strike is coded has always been complex and the optimization is just as complex, especially with this new opus...

gonna try that 500 hz but do you use competitive mode and motion sync?Riggedinho wrote: ↑23 Jun 2024, 16:59For my part I am using a vaxee mouse and I have much better tracking and hitreg with 500 Hz than 1000 Hz is this linked to interference on my USB ports? is it linked to the electricity in my home (old wiring not up to standard) that's why Hertz is on a case by case basis.
I also know that when I plug in my Logitech Pro headset with the USB version I get a crackling noise in my headset so is this related?
That's why I play with the jack plug version, and I prefer it that way anyway (you'll note that lan pro players use in-ear headphones, so the audio panel is enabled in the motherboard bios, I point this out because many people in the CS:GO days played with a USB headset to disable the audio panel in the bios to avoid crazy latency, today in 2024 it's bullshit).

@Lev1n
As mentioned above, mouse Hz is personal, so it's really up to you.
If all goes well at 1000 Hz, you should stay that way.
Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about for competitive mode and motion synchronization.
I don't have any software for my mouse (I don't think Vaxee has any).

These "fixes" to lower the polling rate or monitor refresh rate are complete BSRiggedinho wrote: ↑24 Jun 2024, 03:45@Lev1n

Try to change PSU like this guy viewtopic.php?f=24&t=13054

Ridiculous nonsense. Do you not notice how jittery your game is at 125polling rate? It messes up your smoothness

Re: What improved my hitreg/mouse tracking/desync in CS2
Yea i tryed my mouse with 500 hz its night and day difference between 1000 hz and 500. 500 is much better when its comes to smooth game. But i dont even know why some people have csgo like hits my shots always are behind i have to stand and shoot to kill someone i feel like im always 1 sec behind the game. I have 15k hours at csgo not counting cs 1.6 and source was around 3200 elo at faceit but csgo never was like this. I cant hit shit at cs2.Riggedinho wrote: ↑28 Jun 2024, 21:14@Lev1n
