Thank you very much for the answer, exactly what I wanted to know. To be honest, what I miss most about the Asus is the sharpness and the software for changing profiles (even the Acer 540, being cheaper, has this feature), increasing the contrast beyond 50 when browsing looks very strange, something I don't notice on the 2566k. In your opinion, the Zowie is quite worth it compared to the Asus then, right? I only play pubg, I really wanted to get the 2586x, the big problem is that in my country the Zowie costs DOUBLE the Asus, a very striking differencedaviddave1 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2024, 04:08I never really noticed any grain on the Asus but the Zowie has a sharpness slider that makes the image look way sharper then the Asus without any input lag. Yes, the brightness is much better on the Zowie with DYAC2 then the ASUS with ULMB2. This is a huge plus. I call it the A+ of this monitor ( DYAC2 is also fullscreen, not just the middle LIKE ULMB2). plus a vibrance slider that is really good as always on a Zowie but now the colors are better cause of the panel and now u can advance define each color there is if u like. the black equalizer is very good also, even better then before cause this monitor gets way brighter then the xl2566k producing more contrast in dark areas. This monitor makes u feel like a bloodhound where u can sniff out every enemy hiding.
Sometimes in Quake Live though I get the feeling that the ASUS was a bit just a bit faster. But I only played for 4 hours on Quake Live. In Quake Champions, Apex Legends, PUBG the Zowie slaps really hard. Harder then the ASUS def. edit I just played some Quake Live again and it slaps. it really does. no difference now between the ASUS speedwise.

I sold my Asus for 439 euro and got the zowie for 1200 euro. I took a hit too! Zowie is def the best for pubg. If you have the money to spare and you don't get it in trouble with rent, food, power, gass and the water bill: Yes it's worth it! Yeah, I really want Zowie but I can buy a used car with the amount they charge for on this monitor here in my country hahaha, it's crazy, even though having the money hurts a little. I should sell the Asus and continue with the 2566k and wait for the value to drop a little. By the way, the difference to the 2566k is also very big?.. I've seen this Tig video since it came out, I follow the competitive scene a lot, but I prefer to use gamma 5 and color vibration 16, the rest is the same. A monitor that I miss and regret selling was the vg259qm, the value for money on this monitor is impeccabledaviddave1 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2024, 12:48I sold my Asus for 439 euro and got the zowie for 1200 euro. yes the vg259qm was very nice. Apex streamer Faide still uses it. Yes the xl2586x is way brighter then the xl2566k and faster. Plus there is a extra option for the color vibrance called: "Advanced Define" where u can handpick the color you want to boost or even better you want to turn down. U can play in a black and white screen if u like with for example only the green colors activated. (and not just R G B ) If my memory serves me correctly the xl2566k did not have that.Lucasre5 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2024, 13:29Yeah, I really want Zowie but I can buy a used car with the amount they charge for on this monitor here in my country hahaha, it's crazy, even though having the money hurts a little. I am right now basically trying to find pros/cons to make a final decision between either getting zowie's 540Hz 1080p TN or the 271QRX ...with better resolution, OLED and 360Hz.
Could you give me some personal insight of your experience with these 2 monitors, since you seem to share the same competitive games/interest.

OLED is blurry compared to a backlightstrobed tn panel. Sure OLED looks very submerging and takes you to a other place. But what use is submersion if your vision is a bit blurry when u track a enemy? You have to ask yourself what in videogames is getting you a rush; submersion in the game itself or submersion in the dopamine of getting a frag and winning the game? If it's the latter get the xl2586x. The xl2586x is insane. I wanted to ask whether it was possible to do custom resolutions on the Zowie XL2586x at 540Hz? How is it compared to the Asus PG248QP 540Hz? Does the Zowie run at 540Hz without having to use the OC setting in the OSD? Since you've had both of them could you give me some of your own input and opinions please? And finally is it worth upgrading from the Asus PG248QP to the Zowie XL2586x? Is the difference worth it? Custom res on the zowie is not possible on 540hz. On 500 it is. Some dudes tested in cru that dcs is off on the 500hz mode hdmi 2.1. Zowie did not made a official statement about this though. I don't know why they hesitant about this. Guess they find people who are critical on dsc conspiracy nuts.gab848 wrote: ↑12 Aug 2024, 18:55I wanted to ask whether it was possible to do custom resolutions on the Zowie XL2586x at 540Hz? Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
Using the 500 hz edid, you can then use CRU to make 540 hz custom resolutions. On high enough resolutions you might need to use reduced blanking etc as it goes black screen at around 1330 mhz pixel clock. I use "Exact reduced" and it works great. You can as ive stated before also uncheck DSC 1.2a in the hdmi part in CRU. I cannot confirm it is then off, but as 540Hz 1920x1080 regular timings as an example does not work when using 500 hz edid and CRU, i suspect it is offdaviddave1 wrote: ↑13 Aug 2024, 12:59Custom res on the zowie is not possible on 540hz. Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
Can you confirm that DLDSR is available for you in the NVIDIA control panel options when doing this? I am getting a new HDMI cable tomorrow to try exactly this on my new 2586x. I think DLDSR might be more performant and effective in CS2 than 8x MSAA which I currently use.
