Hi, ive been testing a small -10 all core Curve optimizer offset on my 5800x3d for the summer weather and im having some questions about if it could cause input lag/input latency in games, On one hand it shouldnt really effect anything as the graphical decoding in game should be done by GPU but I dont know if it could still introduce something as the CPU is still apart of the rendering pipeline (i think anyway, im not that knowledgeable on how it works). Mainly asking if it could happen since i think it is happening in games that i am playing, and dont know if im tricking myself into believing it. The camera seems to have a little latency on it whenever the CO is active, (feels slower?) Could it actually? or is it just placebo because im biased towards CO affecting latency and thus im convincing myself theres an issue? Mainly asking for peace of mind as personally i cannot tell if it is since im really going purely off of feel, which is hard to do since i have to restart my pc every time i want to test it. Also couldnt find many answers to if CO could cause it online, so i asked here to see if there is anyone who is alot more knowledgeable about it.
Thought i might aswell add the rest of the PC specs just incase:
B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
DDR4 3600MHZ 4X8 RAM
3090
KRAKEN X63
RM850E
Thanks for any help
Could A negative Curve optimizer cause/exacerbate input lag?
Re: Could A negative Curve optimizer cause/exacerbate input lag?
im see some messages from this forum and my friends who test thats cpu, all x3d cpu have different feel vs non-x3d, i think because these cpu not have static oc.
just go with new 9700x3d, it be better.
or buy new am4 ryzen 7 cpu.

Re: Could A negative Curve optimizer cause/exacerbate input lag?
Arent all 5800x3ds rated for 4.45 ghz? what do you mean by static oc? I am gonna get a new PC when the new 50 series comes out, so until then im trying to manage with my current setup, which gets pretty hot during the summer (reaches 90c pretty easy without the -10 all core) so i'd like to hopefully figure this out. Ive tested both for a couple more days each and still cannot figure out if its different, the camera isnt stuttering but it still doesnt feel the same. Dont know if thats me believing its different or it actually is, only reason im thinking it could be the curve optimizer is because it effects voltages, and i dont know if its causing an issue in the render pipeline, with it not properly sending smooth frames or something, I barely know anything about undervolting so i dont know if it could or couldnt be the undervolt. So i thought id try asking here, mainly for peace of mind since these types of issues really annoy me lol
