Hi, I have an MSI Optix G272 that started to exhibit the problem after 3 years of use. I have an Nvidia 4060 GPU. Gsync is ON from control panel, vsync is forced on and disabled in game. Basically when I drop below 40 fps, the edges of the monitor start flickering for a minute, then stop. It does this to me whenever the fps are between 20 and 40 fps (some loading screens for example are locked at 28 fps or drops to 40 when the CPU is loading the game). Seems like LFC turning on and off very rapidly, like a strobe, only on the edges of the screen.
It all happened after I reinstalled the gpu drivers from scratch using DDU, but I don't think it's driver or software related, I think it's a coincidence and a monitor hardware problem. If I disable gsync of course the problem goes away. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
Adaptive sync monitor edges flickering in some game menus/load screens.

Well, if it started happening after you reinstalled drivers, then that kind of sounds to me it might be a driver problem. When you did the DDU thing, was it for reinstalling the same driver, or was it a driver upgrade? Roll back to the previous driver and see what happens.

I did the driver upgrade with DDU because I like to do a clean install now and then, it's purely a personal choice. I reinstalled 2 different previous drivers, but to no avail.RealNC wrote: ↑09 Aug 2024, 18:45Well, if it started happening after you reinstalled drivers, then that kind of sounds to me it might be a driver problem. EDIT: I think I solved it by setting a different range than the default on CRU. I increased the minimum value to 72hz. Now the flickering only occurs for a fraction of a second.

This disables LFC, so I guess there's something wrong with it.

I sang victory too soon. One way or another, using pendulum gsync, there is still some flickering in the 40-60fps range, so I've reset the monitor default settings. The flickering only occurs for about 30-40 seconds, then everything goes back to normal. It's as if the VRR takes a while to kick in. Do you think it's worth buying a VESA-certified DP cable to see if the problem will go away? Because my actual DP cable is not certified and it's cheap. This disables LFC, so I guess there's something wrong with it.
