Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF

My pc broke and im using a gaming laptop, 3070ti so it has a HDMI 2.1 port but no display port so im stuck on 240Hz. I just tried a HDMI 2.1 with a display port 1.4, all the other monitor options said "no signal" and the DP setting was just a blank screen. I was thinking of getting HDMI 2.1 cable and a display port 1.4 adapter. anyone know a product as amazons listing for these items are hell

Hey, so I just recently bought this monitor, but then realised my pc only has HDMI output, so searching for active hdmi to displayport adapters has been quite hard, and I'm wondering what version of displayport will support the 1080p 390hz bandwidth at the very minimum.

What GPU do you have, and HDMI port version?

Your HDMI port may not support the bitrate of 1080p 390 Hz, requiring you to either lower resolution or lower refresh rate (or both)

Please help me I have this issue but my laptop GPU is a 3070 Ti so the port is HDMI 2.1. . I just tried a display port 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 cable and it unfortunately didnt work. all the source options beside DP had no signal found, the DP source was just a black screen and then the monitor would turn off.

Amazon listings are hell I think i need an adapter but unsure of which

what exactly you looking for? cable or adapter?
if you order from amazon in live in the US just order few adapters and cables and return the ones you dont need

for cable, im not sure if this is the correct model but I got something like that from amazon and I used it with all my monitor and it's perfect. I had zero issues!

Hello, i think it's the best settings, you CAN'T set this monitor better than this:
If you even change the vrb or overdrive on one lvl higher or power it will not work properly. I must sat that, this monitor is terrible... Feeling is really bad, expect this settings.

Brightness 100
Contrast 10
Black eq 0
Max brightness 1

Blue, ACM, HDR, sharpness - off.

Mode: User
Gamma 2 R-45 G-49 B-48
All colours saturation: 61.

Overdrive - Normal
Overclock - On

Nvidia - Full screen on GPU
Native colour mode

I have this monitor, but mine came with that flickering problem. As I bought it used, I ended up keeping it anyway. I used it with a custom resolution at 390hz and with manual settings, so it completely stopped flickering. However, I needed to format my PC, and when trying to create the custom resolution I created before, it gives the following success message: Test successful. Custom resolution of 1920x1080 at 390hz (32-bit) has been applied. Do you want to save this resolution?

I click yes, but the resolution is not applied and is not saved in Nvidia's custom resolutions menu. However, I tried to create a lower resolution of 1440x1080 at 390hz, and this was saved in the nvidia panel for me to use. Strange because before formatting it worked so well. Can someone help me?

Hope I'm coming to the right place for this

Recently after I have freshly reinstalled my windows (not sure this is related I'm just mentioning in case)

I have started experiencing flickering/blackout issues when using my Acer XV252QF on 390Hz
My settings are the following:

I have it on 390Hz overlocked
Using VRB on "normal"
Rest of the things are all "Off"

Color is gamma 2.2 - warm + using a display port (added with the order)

I'll post some of the videos to show an example, I just would like to understand if these issues could be coming from a defective display cable? Perhaps a defective monitor? Also I believe it is important to mention that I have been using it on the exact same settings over 1 year and 1 month now, but recently I have started to have these issues which I'll attach in the videos!

UI.: Since I'm new not sure how can I add videos below, could someone help me with that?

I know this is kind of an old post, but to anyone who is still using this monitor and is interested, you may be able to use 10 bit mode up to 360Hz. Set the monitor to 300Hz at 10 bit (RGB Color output / Full dynamic range). Then from there create a custom resolution with these timings:

Horizontal | Vertical
Active pixels: 1920 | 1080
Front porch (pixels): 8 | 3
Sync width (pixels): 32 | 10
Total pixels: 2080 | 1100
Polarity: Positive (+) | Negative (-)

Set the custom resolution and if it works it will show up as output color depth 10 bpc at 360Hz (while still in RGB color mode of course). YMMV on your upper limit, I was able to get 366, but I wanted multiples of 24. 336 and 384 are also good options.

Theres your fix. Nvidia latest drivers seems to have an issue with enabling custom resolutions. If you have issue then try 537.58 drivers.
