All pretty much right here:ssll8 wrote:i ordered the XL2411Z , do i need to set it up somehow or its just fine out of the box?
If you get a black screen the first time you go 120hz, open up the Blurbusters tool and make sure crosstalk isn't maxed out to the right!Ranzear wrote:Just be sure to run VT1350/120hz, set the persistence between 1ms and 2ms, keep the crosstalk on the early side, get the appropriate ICC profile, and set it to the Standard picture mode for very decent color. Simple right?
Out of the box it'll be on one of the shitty FPS settings. Just go back to Standard unless you wanna fiddle for hours. Which picture settings are available are affected by this picture mode setting too.
Use Blur Trail, full screen, to set your crosstalk. You want the majority of line on the left (earlier frame), not right, and centered as you like. I've set up two of these screens now and crosstalk does vary a tiny bit between them as as the monitor burns in, so get used to re-setting it every day or so.
Get the 120hz ICC profile from here:

You'll also want Instant Mode on, Gamma on 5, Brightness 100. Shouldn't have to change Contrast or Sharpness, but use lagom.nl to check them out anyway. These screens definitely have a warm-up/burn-in period when new, and the temporal dithering on Lagom.nl's black level page will look weird, green and red tints, but don't worry about it; looks fine after a few days of use.
Finally, don't forget to save the settings to one of the Gamer profiles, or you can lose it all on turning the monitor off and back on

Don't need Low Blue Light, just get f.lux for color temp adjustment at night.
There are a lot of useless and unfounded gripes about the color on these screens.
