The OLED is not blurrier than LCD.daviddave1 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2024, 03:35The 480hz Asus 1440p is more blurry then the xl2586x thats just how it is..
The xl2586x also has very good colors for a tn panel, gets very bright with Dyac2, sharpener and black equalizer is very good; It all just works extremely well to create a contrast between the enemy and its surroundings.
Plus you can adjust every single color there is.
Example: You know the ultimate of Pathfinder from Apex Legends where everything becomes black and white except the enemy; they become red so you can spot them extremely well? You can literally do that with this monitor in games where the enemies are a single color. If the enemies colors are diverse like in Pubg they still pop if you crank the colors etc. ( see tgtln settings of his zowie monitor)
This monitor is made to create a CONTRAST between the enemy and it's surroundings as fast as possible. THATS IT. Every single option this monitor has is made with that purpose in mind.
OLED is made to get a beautiful experience that has fast responsetimes. But what use is that if the enemy can hide in its surroundings including its own blurriness?
Battleroyal games like Pubg are about visibility first.
The only monitor that's maybe worth getting over the xl2586x for competitive purpose is the pg27aqnr; the first monitor with G-SYNC Pulsar tech. But it's not out yet.
EDIT:
If you would ask the Zowie monitor: " Would u make the image unrealistic, cartoony, weird or just straight up ugly if you could make more contrast between the enemy and its surroundings? " The answer would be : "Yes withouth a doubt." ( keep in mind the xl2586x has a very nice image for a tn. unprecedented)
The answer of the OLED would be: "Uhm im a OLED im here to make the game look like the maker indented it to be with very fast response times, so: No, not really"
I'm not sure which images you've found for you to claim this, but the OLED is vastly clearer.
Most of the reviews are ignorant of what makes up a good UFO pursuit shot, hence you can't compare it.
I've yet to see a proper UFO done on it (optimumtech "tests" are a joke, HUB/MUB, TFTCentral UFOs are all invalid due to lack of tracks and the rest use a copy-pasted static image - rightout lying about it's motion performance)
You can only use Discorz' emulation of how 0ms G2G at 480hz (~2ms MPRT) looks like, depending on different pps
Visibility is enhanced due to higher PPI as well and much higher contrast ratio too.
The fact you've stated "very good colors for a TN" clearly emphasize the levels of cope you're on.
OLED is the go-to tech in that price bracket and LCD should never be considered.
Only reason one might consider LCD is if you want to play around with VRR / Adaptive Sync, the RGB subpixel layout and no flicker (no brightness scanout dip)
