IMPORTANT:
This subforum is for advanced users only. This separate area is for niche or unexpected lag issues such as electromagnetic interference (EMI, EMF, electrical, radiofrequency, etc). Interference of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction (ECC) latencies like a bad modem connection, except internally in a circuit. ECC = retransmits = lag. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI.

Magnet? ( Not placebo)
Hi everyone, I’ve already opened a topic on the forum, but now something happened that shocked me. I bought a magnet in a store today and placed it on my computer, and all of my floating mouse movements disappeared. In CS2, I hit 4 deagle headshots, and at the end of the match, I had 71% HS ( FACEIT LV8 game ). It wasn’t placebo because I could feel that the mouse movement had changed. So, does this mean I don’t have an EMI issue but an EMF one? I’m not exactly sure about these, please help me understand why this happened. Is it because of grounding? If anyone's interested, I can record the match and send it.

Re: Magnet? ( Not placebo)
What kind of magnet? Did you place it where exactly?
Re: Magnet? ( Not placebo)
I placed it on the PSU, using a random phone holder magnet that is typically used for cars.
Re: Magnet? ( Not placebo)
It's not a placebo because I haven't played something like this for weeks, but when I put it on, it worked, so it's not a placebo.

I thought about this a week ago, lolablemor wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024, 12:34Hi everyone, I’ve already opened a topic on the forum, but now something happened that shocked me. no one is saying anything sensible, everyone is just talking nonsense. This is what happened to me, so I'm sharing it in case someone knows the answer.
Re: Magnet? ( Not placebo)
Since I'm alread using aluminium foil over my sockets why not. Seems to have improved everything. Also to answer you well thought out question. Magnet? Yes.

Need more evidence.
Re: Magnet? ( Not placebo)
Latest game again 83% HS rate im playing faceit ( cs2)
I was wondering what would happen if I used more magnets I assume this would suppress some noise and make the mouse signal cleaner. I think many people might have a similar issue, and it's not the current itself that's bad, though who knows, I'm not an expert. Hyouta, have you tried it, and does the magnet really work? Where did you put it?
