Intel Management Engine Driver Input Lag

Post by PewPew » 16 Jan 2025, 17:41

Hi all! After a year of constant search for a solution to the problem with input lag and desynchronization. Today I found a solution for myself, maybe it will help someone.

The reason for the input delay was in the drivers from Intel (Intel Management Engine Driver)
Namely, rollback to the previous version (not the new version that appears in msi center)
Rolling back to the previous version of the driver almost completely solved the problem with registering hits in games, improved the speed of the mouse. And most importantly, now my 165 Hz feels like it should.

My system

Asus tuf Gaming VG27AQZ 165 hz
z690 msi unify
ddr5 kingston fury 32gb 6000mhz
intel 12700k
rtx 3080 asus rog oc
2x ssd m2 samsung 980 pro

A component that should not even be installed in the first place. Time to look at some Windows guides because this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Please be specific on which ME driver versions are causing you problems and which are fixing them. Are you using the old 2022 driver MSI has on your motherboard download section? (2215.16.0.2791).

Have you tried using the most up to date management engine driver straight from Intel?

Yes! driver 2215.16.0.2791 does not cause delays during shooting. I can now shoot in CS2 at a long distance and hit the head

The latest driver 2306.4.3.0 causes a huge delay. In cs 2, when shooting, bullets go through the enemy, even when we are standing opposite each other:?

The latest intel driver package I linked above should install version 2441.7.0.0 if you want to check if that also fixes your issues.

The mouse has become very fast and responsive, registration has also improved, but not perfect.

after a reboot, the mouse is still fast, but the picture began to lag again. It’s as if something is not keeping up. Something in the system is not managing the power correctly.

2441.7.0.0 with this driver the mouse began to fly. On the first day the registration was perfect, but today the delay has returned. The mouse is still very fast. Now I know for sure that the intel drivers are to blame

Are you running the latest BIOS and did you make sure to update the Intel ME firmware? It's a separate download and process.

If you go to your motherboard download page on the MSI website look at the bios section and under the bios section download button there will be another link for the intel ME firmware update. Then run 'MSI ME FW Tool' and follow the instructions and warnings.

Other than that I would suggest sticking to whichever windows Intel ME driver that gives you the best and most consistent results.
