High acpi.sys latency
Hi all,
I've upgraded my system and downgraded from W10 to W11.
Currently being plagued with high ACPI.SYS latency and I have no idea how to fix it.
From what I've read W11 24H2 is a mess but I cba reinstalling Windows at the moment, is there any other fix?
Overall my W11 latency is HORRIBLE compared to W10.
Things I have tried:
Ultimate performance mode with all tweaked power plan settings
Disabling PSS in Bios
Specs:
USB DAC Sound Blaster E5
Rode NT USB mic
AMD 9800x3d
Asrock x870e Nova
Corsair dominator platinum 64 GB 6000 m/t ram
Nvidia 3070 gpu
2x Samsung 990 Pro SSD's

Re: High acpi.sys latency
nice to see 4 isr in wdf01000, that is instant value when move mouse. That is software issue and idk how to fix it on new platform (that exist on 9700k and 5800x).
you need to try 23h2 v2.

Re: High acpi.sys latency
For anyone looking, this is an ASRock exclusive issue.
I found the fix.
For some reason the SATA controller was not automatically updated and required a manual driver upgrade.
The update link can be found online but if necessary DM me.

Try using ETW TUIs such as xperf or xtw, they provide much less overhead and give you specifics.
Choosing the right motherboard controllers, their specific, best performing drivers and right I/O slots are key when it comes to the user experience on all CPU platforms, regardless of the OS version one has.
Have you tried using an ASMEDIA-based PCIe card or using Fernando's modded Intel 300-series USB drivers?
The former should lead to much less DPC/ISR overhead compared to Microsoft's default USB drivers (wdf0100.sys)

im on GL 3.0 and Z790 usb, also trying asm3141 (with/without driver) and mcs9990 (that is old usbport.sys driver), behaivor is same.kyube wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025, 11:22LatencyMon is not a good way to troubleshoot DPC/ISR driver performance in Windows.OostBlokBoys wrote: ↑15 Mar 2025, 10:41Hi all,

2 things is affect on it:
csm mode, disable / enable ecores (bios / os numproc). For me better using csm + numproc.
how to check you have issue:
install w10, enable useplatformtick yes, open dpclat. checker: if you see 1004-1009 (1013-1015) when move mouse - you have issue.
if stable 1000 and 1001 when move mouse - not.

Re: High acpi.sys latency
im using it only for test my issue with kernel timer, i get stable 1000us when no issues and unstable when move mouse (1004-1009) and 1000-1050 without mouse move when something wrong with gpu driver.JimCarry wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025, 23:47so if i have win i should add useplatformtick yes ?Slender wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025, 23:47i dont use any bcdedit on w11 and using only useplatformtick yes for w10, we have same.JimCarry wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025, 23:45slender can i see your bcdedit /enum ? mine is default should i also add "enable useplatformtick yes"Slender wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025, 23:21
