Then be very grateful to fate, you’ve solved a problem that has been around for over 10 years, because unfortunately, even 10 years ago, there were these kinds of issues. Some people only started discussing this topic on this forum a few years ago, I’ve been here for a few years too, but over the years, I’ve tried so many things new computer, monitor, mouse, everything—nothing helped, I even moved. I was wondering what the issue could be, and then I saw your post. I thought, could a cable really be causing the problem? And since I had a ferrite ring at home, I put it on the middle of the cable, thinking maybe there’s interference, who knows. I tried it, launched a game, and behold, 26 kills, I was so happy. But of course, the issue might return, so maybe an optical cable could solve the problem, or not, and it could just be a waste of money... Enjoy the input lag-free gaming!

I'll make a picture, but nothing complicated. There's the DisplayPort cable I linked, that's the one I have. I put a ferrite ring in the middle of it and also placed one at the graphics card output. I put it in the middle because that's where the mouse and keyboard cables are, and those wires might have picked up the interference since they aren't shielded, etc. Also, the graphics card and monitor could be emitting EMI/RFI. By the way, I switched monitors to a 380Hz one, but it didn't solve the issue.

But I don’t understand that, because I did something where I connected the mouse to the front panel port, and it was still floaty.

By the way, if it turns out that this is the problem, it might help everyone. I’ll definitely try it worst case, it’s just throwing money away, but I’ve already spent so much, and there’s no result. I don’t want to play without input lag when I’m 50, I want to do it now, while I’m young.

young or old,boy or girl,it does not matter,as op said he change many mouse monitors etc,if a cable for 25$ can make your game feel smooth why not buy it,or the thing you are using,i also have 8k mouse like op,on 8k yes is smooth but it still feel sh@t.ablemor wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 20:26By the way, if it turns out that this is the problem, it might help everyone. Update: I played a game today. I wouldn't say it was completely bad, but there were a couple of issues. However, a huge improvement is that it felt less floaty. Another thing is that the mouse movement is different. I definitely need to buy an optical DisplayPort cable.

Good afternoon, everyone, I'm from Russla, I use a translator. Yesterday I came across this post and was very interested in this story, today I bought an hdmi optic cable and at the moment I'm going home and I'm going to test it. I'll write my impressions later.

I have the issues on laptop. So do you think can work if I tried with fiber optic DP to Usb C or fiber optic hdmi cable connecting my laptop to a monitor?

Update: I just played another match, and everything worked great. It felt less floaty, and I enjoyed the game. My spray control was a bit off at times, though. If it’s been good for two days now, I’d say it’s worth investing in that cable.
And so far, nothing has had such a lasting effect, I swear except when I used an MSI motherboard, that helped a bit.
