Hello!
This is my biggest priority at the moment as for building, as i dont wanna return another PC. Should i go with AMD or Intel? NVIDIA or AMD? Hear so many mixed things about it. I’ve had three systems before, all newer gen Ryzen that i had to return because both of them just felt less ”snappy” compared to my older PC, which is getting old now…
My latest system also had high DPC Latency. It was an 7800x3d, CL36 6000MHZ ram by kingston, 4070S, ASUS TUF b650 MOBO, with windows 11 home. The weird thing with my latest pc that i returned was, when i fiddled with BIOS settings, some made somewhat of an improvement in mouse feel. Especially the power down enable option and disabling/having EXPO at manual.
I’m tempted to give intel with NVIDIA a chance, but i dont know if thats the best choice really
My budget is max of 2500euro, please tips me for low latency hardware. Im stuck with an old PC from 2018 that feel good to play at high level competitive, but i really need to upgrade.
What is the best build for Low input lag/Snappy mouse?

Since you already had a 7800X3D, recommending a 9700x feels just as bad as recommending to downgrade. The motherboard you mentioned in your new build could be swapped for a Strix one or an MSI Tomahawk since they are said to be higher quality. Windows 11 Home with or without modifications can make your PC feel like garbage as well.
I don't want to start a whole crusade against newer versions of Windows and I don't want to repeat myself each time but many posts can be found from established people in the tweaking community who claim the same things that I do, which is exactly this:
Overall I suggest you either get a 14th gen Intel i7 or i9 or a 9700x with an NVIDIA GPU. AMD GPUs need a lot of tweaks and most of them can't be done on newer cards. After this you need to tweak the hell out of everything you have.

His and others' opinions could have changed since then but I want to raise awareness that with hardware from 2019 and onward, you have to make sacrifices in order to get a decent gaming experience. The higher you go with monitor refresh rate and mouse polling rate, the differences in latency are going to become more apparent and way more frustrating.

Always get a K CPU if you want to go the Intel way because without overclocking, you'll most probably need to use SpeedStep and SpeedShift to have stable performance.Inputlagg3r wrote: ↑26 Apr 2025, 06:43There is an build i personally wanna try:Hyote wrote: ↑25 Apr 2025, 22:16Since you already had a 7800X3D, recommending a 9700x feels just as bad as recommending to downgrade. I can't tell the difference because I don't have any experience with MSI boards but I think whichever you like personally would be fine. My opinion is Strix>MAG>TUF.Inputlagg3r wrote: ↑26 Apr 2025, 18:53Thank you so much, can i go with the MAG Tomahawk B-760 or do i have to go with Z-790?
