DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
Everytime i load up windows, the desktop appears and then the monitor flickers once, similar to how it looks when you reset the display drivers.
And the weird thing is that the mouse movement get`s heavier after that happens.
Any idea of what could trigger this ?

Re: DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
Had the same on my last install
just use DDU and make fresh gpu driver install, should go away after that
I think in my case I was playing around with FSO via regedit

Re: DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
put dpclatcheker 1.4.0 in startup and post screen when reboot
Re: DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
Hey guy. The sectarians who think that the problem is in the unlicensed version of Windows, think that such a crash is the hand of God. If you have it, you have a 101% system and there can be no input lag. This was said here by a guy, Z3CrosS
Re: DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
theres always some input lag, the question is: how can we reduce it towards 0
non activated "can" cause some problems, bc that "activate win now" popup is a layer which wants always be on top thus causing trouble
Re: DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
This guy in the video uses Windows 11 Home Not activated. Everything is perfect for him. You can go to his channel to watch clips of сs2.
I still think (this has been proven by many in practice) - input lag is literally your place where you live. I don't know what it is, electricity, magnetic field or EMI. It doesn't matter. I know for sure that it can be fixed when you find the perfect place and a new PC. (I talked to many people who did this, one guy changed 12 apartments)

Re: DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
I don't know what causes it. It didn't happen for a long time now, but it happened again last week, but then it went away after a couple days for no apparent reason. I changed some settings in NVCP, maybe that made it go away again.
In any event, there wasn't anything weird with input lag when it was happening. Mouse was fine with or without that glitch.

I would argue that this is the modern bloat, we have a bazillion things that work hand in hand like a clockworkTN_fun wrote: ↑30 Apr 2025, 14:44This guy in the video uses Windows 11 Home Not activated. Everything is perfect for him. You can go to his channel to watch clips of сs2.

You mess up 1 thing and the chain with 12 million elements doesnt work anymore as good as it should
So it got fixed by your guy via a new environment -> then activating/not activating shouldnt make a difference right?
But thats the thing: I think a lot of stuff can "fix problems" its not isolated to "do X and Y will happen" bc again: it's
a clockwork with so much variance and everything works together
Re: DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
yes, this guy uses kms activation.
I talked to another friend, he played spirit academy. He also moved, bought a new computer and also use kms activation. Everything is fine, no input lag.
Re: DisplayPort "Handshake" everytime windows starts.
I dont want to sound rude or that I wouldnt believe you. But its just that they did 2 things at the same time. New PC + new location
If we would want to dig deeper we would need to eliminate 1 variance the new pc or the new location and then.... test again
Maybe you need both, maybe you only need a new "good location" only god knows
I personally had my best results with IRQ Priorities. The game was playing by itself if you know what I mean. Movement, aim everything was just like back in the good ol days of 1.6
I played too much with the settings and couldnt go back or remember which combination of priorities were set by me. In most cases you make things worse with IRQ Priorties so I stepped back from this rabbit hole
