Does ExitLAG provide an unfair advantage?
Does ExitLAG provide an unfair advantage?
Since my Internet Service Provider switched its infrastructure from VDSL to Fiber, my ping has generally increased in games originating from abroad. To overcome this problem, I also bought an ExitLAG membership. I had previously used the 3-day trial version and was very pleased, so I bought it without hesitation.
My ping values were even better than the VDSL version. However, there were some surprises in the games.
In level 9-10 matches on Faceit, I started to receive expressions such as wallhack from both my opponent and my own team. The same thing happened in normal competitive and casual games. They tried to kick me in casual games. I don't think I'm very lucky, I play the same way almost every day. I see my opponents normally and I hit them. However, the fact that many people suddenly called me a cheater made me suspicious.

It is hard to believe that people still fall for a scams like exitlag. If you have poor internet quality, no amount of external software will improve it. A week maximum and you'll be back on this forum or discord servers looking for ways to improve your game latency.

I play Faceit level 10. I am a good player enough to feel the difference between 65 ping and 35 ping, don't worryn1zoo wrote: ↑27 May 2025, 06:19It is hard to believe that people still fall for a scams like exitlag. Re: Does ExitLAG provide an unfair advantage?
I was playing on Faceit with an average ping of 65. It was almost impossible to hit someone with ping of 65 because they peek very fast and you can't get hit, if I peek the person starts shooting at me before I see them. Now I'm between exitlag and 35-40ping. I haven't had these problems again for 2 days.drosku wrote: ↑27 May 2025, 06:51better routing/node improved thats it.alp15eren wrote: ↑27 May 2025, 05:17Since my Internet Service Provider switched its infrastructure from VDSL to Fiber, my ping has generally increased in games originating from abroad. Re: Does ExitLAG provide an unfair advantage?
I'm not talking about desync nonsense. I think desync is placebo anyway, it's all in the mind. I don't experience this in competitive because my ping is as it should be but I was getting extremely high ping in faceit. Exitlag helped my competitive and faceit ping very seriously.
It also solved my packet loss problem in Apex Legends, independent of CS2, and I can play very smooth matches.
I hope my internet service provider solves this problem as soon as possible.

Re: Does ExitLAG provide an unfair advantage?
Desync definitely isn't nonsense. It exists. I've had it for many years and go though periods where it doesn't happen, and it's like night and day difference. Games feel much more easier.
Another example is a friend who never experienced these kind of issues, we play Warzone together, he's one of those guys who just happens to have great hand eye coordination and great at any sport he picks up, however this past month or so he's finally been getting desync issues and I've never known him to rage ever, yet he's going crazy and sending me clips, he's never done this in the 5 years since we started playing
. I'm thankful in a way because he always used to think it was just me moaning, but now he understands.

Re: Does ExitLAG provide an unfair advantage?
I can confirm that too. A few days ago, a friend came over and started playing some League of Legends matches. He told me everything looked really fast, that he couldn’t dodge anything. He even has a monitor with a higher refresh rate than mine, but he said he *thinks* his house has grounded electrical wiring, so I’m not sure.ApexLeg wrote: ↑29 May 2025, 04:22Desync definitely isn't nonsense. Re: Does ExitLAG provide an unfair advantage?
I believe that desync is only in Valorant. Many other games seem like placebos. I never experienced this in CS2. If my bullet doesn't go or the opponent peeks too fast, it's because of subtick. Now I also peek too fast and hit, people usually call it cheating. The reason for this desync in Valorant is that the servers are terrible. CS:GO's 64 tick or even CS2's subtick system (if you get low ping) works better than Valorant's 128 tick servers.ApexLeg wrote: ↑29 May 2025, 04:22Desync definitely isn't nonsense. It exists. Or if you really have a desync problem, I think it's caused by the internet instead of electricity. Your modem, Ethernet cable or wifi driver, the paths your ISP sends while routing to the game server. Or if you're using a program like GoodbyeDPI that interferes with packets, maybe that could be the cause.
Before I used ExitLAG or VPN on Faceit, it was very difficult for me to hit someone because my ping was incredibly high. Now it's down to around 30 and I can hit them very easily. But ExitLAG gives a more stable ping than VPN. The reason for this is due to ping. After 50-60ms, subtick starts to cause problems. Even if you're the side that's peeking, if the other side's ping is 5-10ms, it can still show a reflex.
Re: Does ExitLAG provide an unfair advantage?
Nah, I had the issue come and go within Apex as well as CoD. I'm not crazy, I can clearly tell when it happens and when it's not. It goes through periods. I do still think it's mainly ISP routing because I can have awful desync for a while, and then all of a sudden the next day it goes away for weeks without me touching any kind of setting.
When I suddenly dont get the issue and my kd goes up from 1kd to 2.5kd or something, my teammates have actually accused me of cheating because how can I suddenly get more kills and less deaths all of a sudden? I just tell them I'm not getting any desync, I'll be honest about it.
But then again, you can search up now Smurf accounts clear this issue. It's very complex but definitely not placebo.
