Post by Arlina » 29 May 2025, 04:50

Hi,

I have 2k 180hz monitor and connect with dp 1.4 and osd select 1.4. rtx 4070-vg27aq3a

But gpu-z show 5.4 gpbs. is this normal?

When I asked chatgpt and gemine they said it was 5.4 dp 1.2 speed.

Maybe it's because of DSC (Display Stream Compression.) If your monitor has a setting to disable it, then do that. Note that only the monitor can disable that, it can't be disabled from the GPU side.

Or you're using 120Hz, not 180Hz. Make sure you're actually running 180Hz.

Furthermore, I'm not sure if 8-bit 180Hz actually uses 8.1gbps. Try switching to 10-bit colors in NVCP (just as test, you can switch back to 8-bit afterwards.)

There is no dsc on/off setting in the OSD. There is only a 1.2-1.4 selection setting on the monitor.

I use 2k 180hz 8bit sdr. I can't select 10bit when 2k 180hz. If I reduce it to 120hz it only selects 10bit.

I noticed this. When I select DP 1.2 in OSD, the HDR on/off setting in Windows disappears. When I select 1.4 in OSD, the hdr on/off switch comes back.
