Another possible cause of desync
Another possible cause of desync
It was a bit hard to catch this one, but I while I was doing my usual Windows setup process I noticed the desynced feeling began when I tried installing programs that required the latest C++ packages.
Since the installer service (msiserver) is disabled, they didn't go through. Despite that, the desynced feeling remained until I cleaned up all the leftover files.
I can also replicate this with trying to install the packages or even installing them fully and the difference will be there every time. So right now I avoid playing games that try installing the 2015-2022 packages.

Re: Another possible cause of desync
I saw a comment under the youtube video, that the guy claimed that desync and all this shit that we are going through kicked after installing game that required 2015-2022 packages as you said. Can you tell me how you cleaned the leftovers? Is it any directory for that files stored?
The brightest light casts the darkest shadow.

It's a bit strange, the coincidence I was looking into this a few days ago. In fact, I haven't been on the forum in a while. I'd say I still need to run some tests to confirm it, but what's odd is that I also think it's that version or the 2012 one. Actually, I had been playing for many days without any issues until a program installed that version on my system

So you are just deleting the content package cache folder not uninstalling the c++ packages themselves ?

There might be other locations as well but this is what I found so far.Hyote wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 15:34Program Data -> Package Cachekriegsnake wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 13:38I saw a comment under the youtube video, that the guy claimed that desync and all this shit that we are going through kicked after installing game that required 2015-2022 packages as you said. Re: Another possible cause of desync
I reinstalled the packages 3 days ago which 2 of the 3 days felt insanely good. Afterwards, it turned into a complete shit feeling with excessive recoil (feeling like the bullets come through the end of the gun) instead of like at your crosshair.
I installed them again today and it feels better. I seriously just wanna get red of this shitty feeling because I play insanely well when it doesnt feel like I have this.

Re: Another possible cause of desync
Hi, Could you please tell me what packages you mean?
Re: Another possible cause of desync
Both 32 and 64-bit versions of the latest packages, Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022
Re: Another possible cause of desync
I had to cave in and install C++ for some programs to work but fortunately it didn't affect online gameplay this time.
However the post that got taken down from yesterday had one interesting theory and that is mouse acceleration affecting hitreg.
I won't back up that guy's claims but I will admit that the best scores I ever got in games were during the times when I was using RawAccel.
I've practiced regular aiming for the last 10 years and used acceleration on and off with various apps and ingame settings.
The screenshot is from Roblox but anyway, getting this number of kills without dying is even difficult in games with easy bots.
