Severe Imput Lag.Desync.Hitreg Issues in cs2 Reward offered

Post by Gruzin » 20 Jun 2025, 15:32

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a long-standing and extremely frustrating issue in CS2 related to input lag, desync, and terrible hit registration — and I’ve reached the point where I’m offering a monetary reward to anyone who helps me truly fix this. I’m serious. I’ve spent hundreds of hours troubleshooting already, and nothing works.

🧠 Symptoms
• Hitreg is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes I shoot directly at the enemy and get no damage.
• Enemies seem to see me before I see them, even when I pre-aim and have good reaction time.
• My bullets often feel delayed, like I have to shoot where a player was, not where they are.
• Even when I play on a 20ms ping server (Novosibirsk), this problem persists.
• It happens in cycles: sometimes the game feels perfect, and then suddenly everything becomes delayed and unplayable for days or weeks.

🔧 What I’ve tried so far
• Clean Windows install (now using Windows 11).
• Reinstalled FaceIT AC and CS2 from scratch.
• Disabled E-Cores, PTT in BIOS.
• Checked and adjusted all power saving, ACPI, and BIOS latency-related settings.
• Optimized registry, services, network stack (TCP/IP tweaks).
• Tested multiple VPNs (free and paid, including ExitLag) — no help.
• Tried different ISPs, even 4G mobile connection — problem still comes and goes.
• Verified my NVIDIA driver settings (Ultra Low Latency, G-Sync, V-Sync off, capped FPS).
• Display is now correctly connected via DisplayPort, G-Sync active.
• System timers checked and synced, Latencymon reports no dropouts or spikes.
• Tried playing with only minimal background processes running.

💻 My Specs
• CPU: Intel i5-12600KF
• GPU: RTX 4060 Ti
• Motherboard: JGINYUE B760I GAMING
• Display: AF27H2 @240Hz (G-Sync, DisplayPort)
• RAM: 32 GB
• OS: Windows 11 Pro
• Connection: Ethernet, static IP, fiber line (also tested mobile)

🧩 Other notes
• When the issue is present, the game becomes impossible to play at a competitive level.
• At other times, it’s like a switch flips and everything works beautifully.
• I have reached a high ELO on FACEIT (~3000), so I know what proper response and registration feels like — and this is not it.
• I don’t think this is placebo or just bad mechanics. Something’s wrong — maybe hardware, EMI, system instability — but I need help confirming what.

💰 Offering a reward

If you can help me find a working, consistent, and replicable solution, I’m offering a generous cash reward. It doesn’t matter how simple or crazy your idea is — if it works, it works.

Thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help.
I’m open to tests, debugging, logs, remote sessions — anything.

There are your issues.
Try buying:
- a proper Z790 motherboard (>8 layers, ALC1220 or older with toslink, PS/2 port, bios flashback button etc.) or AM5 board
- a Intel 13th gen 8 core (13700k / 14700k) processor or AM5 Zen 4 / Zen 5 8 core CPU (7800x3d/9800x3d)
- a good display first (AW2524HF, AG246FK, XV242F, Q25G4SR etc.)

I assume your RAM is completely terrible & heavily unstable, thus you having these issues.

The issue in trying to troubleshoot RAM timings lies in the following variables:
- Your IMC's capabilities (it's a lottery)
- Your motherboard's capabilities (somewhat predictable)
- Your PSU's voltage ripple performance & other performance metrics (somewhat predictable)
- Your chip IC's quality (somewhat predictable)

One cannot make a 100% accurate assessment of whether your RAM is the contributing factor to experiencing symptoms which are frequently mentioned here.

A kit being on QVL of motherboard does not make it "stable" or safe, as AMD & Intel claim that EXPO/XMP voids warranty (considered "overclocking")
My general rule of thumb is to always rely on specifications mentioned by either AMD or Intel documentation.
Don't rely on anecdotal evidence online, as everyone has different levels of perception to microstuttering, macrostuttering and IMC capabilities can heavily vary.

A ZenTimings screenshot, a list of your system's components & which BIOS settings you've adjusted might provide a nice starting point for troubleshooting.
The general rule of thumb is to try EXPO disabled on a new Windows install.
Yes, it's detrimental to performance to use this setting, but it's a good 1st step for troubleshooting purposes.

One must choose between a balance of data integrity ("stability") and RAM performance (BW & R/W latency)

My Specs:
- CPU: 9800x3d
- GPU: 3090Ti
- Motherboard: ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI
- Monitor: PG27AQDM
- RAM: Trident Z5 Royal Neo series DDR5-6000 CL28-38-38-96 - But I am currently not using EXPO
- OS: Windows 11 22h3
- PSU: Corsair HX1000i

Tried:
- Different Windows 10/11 24
- Tons of Tweaks from different People
- Wifi / Phone 4G/5G
- Different Mice - Razer Viper V2 Pro/Logitech Superlight
- Different Monitors Xl2546K
- Different Keyboards - Ducky/Wooting
- Tons of different Drivers for Ethernet/Nvidia
- Fully tweaked Windows - Currently on Basic W11 23h2 without a single tweak or change
- Different ISP haven’t tried Fibre they are currently building it so I‘ll get to test it soon.
- Bios Tweaks currently not using tweaks only SMT Control off & Asus utility

I have the same issues, I tried so many things but nothing seems to be working. I have these Issues in Valorant though, I haven’t tried CS2. My Mouse randomly speeds up during the Round until the next round starts it’s a constant back & forth with my mouse it basically random acceleration for an entire round. What I have noticed is that BIOS updates have a huge Impact on how the game behaves. I can do as little as changing my NVIDIA Settings from Aspect Ratio to Fullscreen and my Opponents will be way faster than usual, I hardly have any time to react to my Opponents I‘m still in Higher Elo ( Immortal 3 ), but it makes the game extra hard. Even in lower Elo when I play with my Girlfriend these Diamonds/Ascendents peek me and just clap me without me being able to react. Happens at any Elo. I'm also willing to pay for whoever can help me find the solution to this issue I been dealing with for months.

That is a huge "only".
Have you reinstalled your OS after disabling EXPO?
Have you tried applying static clock rate & vcore to your X3D, along with soft-locking clocks of your 3090Ti during gameplay?
The ASUS utility is stealing CPU cycles in the background, disable it in BIOS and uninstall it.
Generally, you want to minimise the amount of clock rate variance in your PC on a BIOS level as much as you can.
ASUS also doesn't have a dedicated TPM header, so any potential issues caused by it (which I doubt you're experiencing here, but I'll still mention it) would require a motherboard swap.
Have you tried using Intel NICs (I210, 10GbE ones, Marvell) or optimizing your in-house networking devices (router, switches, cables etc.)?
Your motherboard having ALC4080 also doesn't help it either (adds noticable audio latency over previous RTL chipset versions)
Refer to https://github.com/valleyofdoom/PC-Tuning on how to tune Windows post-installation.
I also have a AM5 system thread in my signature, it might be worth a visit.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough, I have ASUS utility Off and SMT Control off, other than that I didn’t change anything in BIOS. Reinstalled Windows after EXPO disabled? Yes
I tried 4.7 GHz with Vcore 1.15 Gameplay becomes a little different but usually lasts for 1 reboot then it goes back to being abnormal.
I have Afterburner installed whenever I lock my GPU I tried multiple different Voltages the Hitreg becomes noticeably better but the Enemies also become faster as well again movement wise. It becomes harder to kill them. I bought a i210-T1
used to play with it but haven’t tried on my current PC could give it another try. Router Settings I have a FritzBox 7690 I turned everything I can off (IPv6, UPnP, FritzBox Services etc.) Filters I left on. I am currently using a CAT 8 (Ercielook Lan Cable 5 m, High Speed Cat8 Network Cable for Outdoor and Indoor Use, 40 Gbps Braided Patch Cable with RJ45 Connector for Router/Gaming/Modem) from Amazon to be exact. Could the Audio be an issue? I use Apple Headphones just plugged into my motherboard with a cable to extend the range. I‘ll try to Guides (Valley and yours) and see if I can achieve something

Could you try playing the games you mentioned after changing Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames setting in Nvidia Profile Inspector to 0x00000008, instead of default or 0x00000001?
