LG 24gm77-B motion240 vs BenQ XL2411Z lightboost
LG 24gm77-B motion240 vs BenQ XL2411Z lightboost
Hey guys,
i saw the review on prad.de and must say the LG seems pretty legit. The only Monitor that got a "very good" rating.
Altho the BenQ with lightboost "patch" seems also pretty promising. Does the BenQ would get with that lightboost also a "very good" rating?
I dont have the Money to order both and check on my own. Does anyone has experience with both ? Can any1 help me with my decision ?
Greetings

I would be very interested in hearing from anybody with MOTION240 (the brand name of LG's "LightBoost clone").

Chief it is unavailable for you? Hearing from others would be cool, hearing from Chief about this technology even better

You cant say it's better until you do a test for ghosting and crosstalk.
Please run TESTUFO, fullscreen-->alien invasion test.
Press F11 on your browser to maximize (fullscreen)
Look for thick crosstalk lines at the top or bottom.
You can see what we're looking for by looking in the other benq threads about the storbing on Alien Invasion and seeing how the crosstalk looks.
The review on this monitor didn't seem to discuss the strobing quality at all and thus didn't address possible strobe crosstalk.
If it has accelerated scanout, then it should be lightboost quality as far as crosstalk artifacts are concerned.
The only problem with accelerated scanout is it usually degrades the image quality; you can tell in lightboost (3d vision 2) mode that many monitors have inversion horizontal line artifacts in lightboost mode, although the intensity varies from panel to panel (even of the exact same monitor). Such inversion artifacts are usually not visible in 3D (you can't really see them with a VT 1500 tweak on a Benq Z series) but on a plan greyish or light background on 2d, they're easy to spot.

Which test is alien invasion?
//Edit: Yes, there is crosstalk, the lines on top and bottom has something like ghosting, and what's bad about it?
//Edit2: Maybe this is about settings, i dont know.

Can you take a picture (with a high speed camera) of the screen so we can see how the top and bottom edges of the testUFO screen look like?
We're not talking about regular overdrive ghosting (that can be apparent at different intensities at all parts of the screen). We're talking about what looks like a very "thick" double image that looks much thicker at the top and bottom of the screen, than the middle and near middle parts.
At the top of the screen, look for the area in FRONT (to the -->right) of the red vertical stripe to have a ghosting pattern that turns dark/black, and maybe all the way to completely black at the very top, and at the bottom, it's the area BEHIND the red stripe (<---) ,the ghosted area to the left, to start getting a 'thick" pattern and go from transparent to dark/black.
Look at the -second- testuFO picture in this thread here:
http://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=277
You can see the crosstalk (the strobe pulse, basically) at the top and bottom of the screen, and you can see how you notice the settling errors to the "front" of the image (that is moving left to right) at the top, and behind the image at the bottom.

I took few photos with my Canon. I'm not into photographing, i just changed exposure time: http://imgur.com/a/pfLe9

It looks more or less like the BenQ without VT tricks but properly placed so the center is clear. What's weird is that the crosstalk zone looks different in each photo. I guess it's a photo problem. Is there any monitor setting to move it? I wonder if the VT trick would do any good in your case.Avantu wrote:I took few photos with my Canon. How are overdrive artifacts in your monitor? I think static photos like yours don't capture them very good. Try following some UFO with the camera and take a photo. It can be hard to get a clear shot.
