I'm not expecting this to hit EU/NA market till 2027 at minimum.
The biggest hurdle in the chase of 10³ refresh rate values are:
- G2G RT's of LCD's (TN's are already faltering in this regard) for true to theory pixel visibility time (MPRT/persistence) representation,
- Severe software overhead on the game engine side & a OS level,
- Cable limitations (we're already hitting it) due to the prevalent use of copper in data signalling & the large use of DSC. Only full BW HDMI 2.2 is close to this, being able to run FHD@960hz@8-bit.
But hey, considering we're using old 1930s technology for display/GPU stack and the entire OS (Windows) is built upon layers of archaic practices, we can't expect better...
I saw this and kinda surprised LCD is being used, I'd expect OLED only at this level. Either way will be interesting to see, though I'd like 1000Hz OLED with BFI options and sync really.
