Motion Blur 144Hz vs 240Hz

Post by juliaroberts » 29 Sep 2025, 08:27

Hi everyone,
I've been testing gaming monitors and have noticed a noticeable reduction in motion blur on 240Hz compared to 144Hz. Do you see a significant difference, and does upgrading to 360Hz improve the smoothness even more? I'd love to discuss!

From my own personal experience:

LCD 60hz = Perfect for me personally, I don't mind it at all. But of course, a slight disadvantage in competitive/fast paced games. But still does the job and can still reach the top of the leaderboard
LCD 144hz = Too much blur, needs to be reduced, doesn't feel snappy enough. 60hz feels better than 144hz.
OLED 240hz = Too much MPRT, makes me feel sick
Fast IPS 360hz = Not bad, higher hz would be better
OLED 500hz = Motion blur is quite subtle, not too noticeable and the blur looks natural. Doesn't bother me, and I think at 600hz it'll probably be unnoticeable to me.

Anything below 480fps @ 480hz OLED (not LCD) is a meme for our eyes, in terms of eye ergonomics.
The overarching goal is +2000 F/s @ +2kHz.
