All your "floaty mouses", degraded display quality, 240hz feeling like 60hz etc. is 101% caused by harmonic distortion.

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

After having those problems since 2022, trying each and every possible fix, nothing ever helped - but at other locations, everything works flawlessly. And all those input delays or display issues completely dissapear sometime after the midnight, it feels like a completely new computer compared to when used during the daytime, everything is smooth, better colours, better mouse movement in desktop, crisp windows animations etc.

So, I asked myself - the problem is obviously related to elecricity at this point, but what exactly? By using the logic - if the problem is time-related, and the PC works much better at night - it cannot be anything directly related to electrical installation in my apartment, so no grounding, neutral wire issues, or whatever.

And then, instead of keep on moving cables, buying ferrites, UPSs, or building new PCs indefinenty like other people, thinking that the problem would magically dissapear, I got into a direct contact with my power company instead. They tested the area and voila, the harmonic distortion levels are high as fuck, not just in my street but entire neighbourhood, and now it all makes sense - distortion is directly causing EMI on all electrical devices, along with voltage fluctuations.

At night, when majority of people stops using electrical devices, the power is more clear, less harmonics, less noise, less EMI, less fluctuations ----> perfectly working PC. But during the day, when the power grid is infected with shittons of harmonics, you get a shitty working PC. By the time the elecricity enters your house, it is already "damaged" BEYOND REPAIR, and this is why NONE of the UPSs, power conditioners, voltage stabilizers, EMI shields, whatever, will ever work.

Each year, the grid is globally more and more riddled with harmonics due to linear loads - especially solar panels and shit like that - and this is why more and more people are getting those problems, it will only get worse. No matter what you do, you will NOT fix those problems on your own, only the power company can fix it - if you are lucky (I am not). Basically, in my country, they don't give three shits about it - as long as you get electricity, you should be happy and don't complain - that's their logic, and we are talking about EU country, not some third-world stuff. To fix it, they would need to upgrade local transformators to put out more power, extra shield the grid for EMI, and re-direct problematic big consumers to their own grid - and all of this is expensive and time consuming, so they won't do it just because someone has PC problems.

Try to do a quick test at home - let your phone down to 10% battery, then charge it to 90%, and measure how much time does it need to charge - now try this with the same phone and charger somewhere else. If you have dirty electricity and harmonics, it will take much longer to charge, and the charger would be very hot afterwards - like not just warm, but hot to the point you could barely hold it.

I would say that 85% of us with those problems have harmonics distortion, and this is why no one has ever fully fixed this - because it is OUT OF OUR HANDS to fix it, only the Power company can do it. The remaining 15% people have some other problems, which produce similar symptoms - it could be software, hardware, even a modem, it could also be grounding (but highly unlikely - during my research I saw a lot of people saying it is a grounding problem, and yet no one proved and fixed it), but in the big majority of cases it is harmonic distortion.

TLDR: Don't waste your time and money with 1001 placebo "fixes", don't buy new stuff, don't build new PCs, you won't fix this problem on your own - no one has done it before, because it CANNOT be done - it is power companies fault.

What about all pro players that dont have these problems? Their electricity in home and on LAN matches is perfect? Do power companies make them a favor? It doesn't fit in your theory. I guess they play in many different places (bootcamps, lan matches etc.), so luckily every place is free from the harmonic distortion?
Just wondering

No it is body or some phenomenon that we are yet to discover. If you combined all the people that have had this problem, like me since 2011-2012 we all moved together at least 40+ different places across the globe, it is simply not possible that every single place had harmonics distortion that affected devices in a specific and undocumented way. The fact that no one solved this problem since 2011 is enough to debunk your theory. Do you think people stay in the same place for 14 years? Maybe but most people move a lot. What about pro players and streamers who move once or twice a year and that is not counting LANs or different events. How do they stay consistent over the years? I can't recall a single pro player that suddenly fell of a cliff and became a bad player. Surely, over the years if the problem is so widespread as you claim, there would be a case of a pro player or a streamer moving to a different place and losing all of his skills.

Because they simply live in an area that has normal harmonics levels? Only a very small percent of people are affected with this - for now, it will get worse and worse, unless power companies upgrade all their grids.

Then explain why the same PC and monitor works perfectly well at other locations (I tried three locations - one in the same city, and two in small towns / villages), and not just for 5 minutes but for several hours, meanwhile at home it works like shit in a second you plug it into power (during daytime)?

And how many PCs did you try at "40+ places around the globe"? Everytime the same PC, or completely newly build PC, without any used part from the previous PC - not even a single cable or a case fan?

It is caused by transformer substatitions, they were build decades ago, minimally maintained to save money, but the power requeirments are bigger and bigger, more and more people are using powerful devices (solar panels), and the transformers are not up to it.

There actually are rich people who solved this - they simply bought their own generators for $6,000+ and basically produced their own electricity - and all the problems were gone, so it cannot be more clear that it is a problem with electricity quality - specifially harmonics, which in turn cause EMI when exposed to devices.

In your case it might be just a skill issue  Like actually, not everyone is built to be good at fps games, a lot of people even after thousands of hours have terrible gamesense, reaction time etc. If you for example can't get to faceit level 10 even while having these problems then you're just bad.
