Vertical scanline-like lines on a MiniLED monitor

Post by ribetinasmudj » 17 Feb 2026, 12:11

I'm seeing annoying vertical lines on my Xiaomi 27i G Pro that happen almost every time there is panning or movement on the screen, especially horizontal movement.

It's more pronounced the lower the fps is, but it's still perceptible even at max 180hz. Gsync on/off doesn't change it, and it's been happening on a range of Nvidia drivers so I don't think it's a specific driver bug. I also don't believe the previous unit of the same monitor I had had this problem, but I returned that one due to the plethora of problems this monitor has in general, and the one I have right now has much more tolerable red tinting in HDR so I decided to keep it.

That may have been a mistake if this is a panel problem, which seems to be the case. I also have a 48-inch LG C1 right next to it, and it doesn't have these lines in any scenario where they appear on Xiaomi. I have a short recording from WoW's character creation, but I don't know if I can upload it here, since it wouldn't let me post an Imgur link. Characters on the creation screen moving very easily triggers this since it's locked to 60fps, and the characters move non-stop, which causes the issue.

In normal usage, it looks like CRT scanlines when I noticed it, and produces a "dirty" film grain effect, so it's pretty annoying to look at. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be if it's fixable, or is there a way I can upload the vid for a demonstration?
