well i hope it stays smooth for you, for me its now fixed after changing nvidia scaling to gpu lol

thinking about doing the ethernet fix you mentioned above. would this be a big improvement without the transformer and double conversion? thanks

im not using the double conversion right now as its sine wave is inferior to what my grid creates (atleast when my PC can only achieve 20% load on the ups) but i only had this ethernet ground loop because my computer was referencing ground from the Isolation Transformer and from the house via the ethernet cable. so you have to try both ethernet isolation and transformer isolation together for any potential result. thats why ethernet unplugged on the transformer felt good, and ethernet plugged in didnt, atleast for me

Am i still dealing with harmonics? neutral impedance? i did have high neutral to ground. when any appliance with a motor is used in the house, my game suffers. when i am home alone or in the middle of the night with only the isolatiion transformer and ethernet isolation, my game is basically perfect. whenever the laundry machines are in use my game suffers. at this point i wonder if the final solution is a ferroresonant transformer on top of the Tripp Lite and Ethernet isolation, even though a Constant Voltage Transformer kind of distorts the sine wave by flattening the peaks.

yeah the problem manifests differently for different people, when i unplug ethernet i still have the lag and reduced picture quality etc

Ohh, i'm very interested in your results. That transformer should work to clean the power as the in's and outs are not physically connected in anyway and it creates a clean power through magnetic induction.

If that doesn't work. You should wrap your room in a Faraday cage.

did you read the part where i wrote that i am also using a transformer? when my PC is connected directly to the wall, unplugging the ethernet does NOTHING. using a transformer while the ethernet is not isolated gives me issues. ethernet on its own was not the problem, it was in conjunction with the transformmer and ethernet causing a ground loop

Any transformer works through magnetic induction, thats just how transformers work in general, including my tripp lite isolation transformer which i already have, and it helped but didnt fully fix the remaining problem of harmonics. right now whenever the laundry machines are in use they worsen the playability of my game. the tripp lite and ethernet isolation definitely helped my game alot, the tripp lite fixed the common mode noise in my house. basically my pc's ground reference was physically connected to house ground through the outlet ground pin. my house has neutral to ground voltage instability that swings from 0.4v to 3v under motor load. that instability was riding directly into my pc's ground plane through the power connection and screwing up everything referenced to ground on my motherboard including usb timing. the tripp lite is a galvanically isolated transformer meaning the output is completely floating with no physical connection to house ground whatsoever. my pc's ground reference now floats independently and the neutral to ground instability from the house cant reach it through the power path anymore. now whats remaining is Differential-mode harmonic noise , which is completely different from common mode noise and a regular isolation transformer including my tripp lite cannot stop it. differential mode harmonics ride on the voltage between hot and neutral directly. when my washing machine or dryer motor runs it injects harmonic distortion onto the hot and neutral conductors themselves. that harmonic energy transfers straight through any transformer magnetically, my tripp lite passes it through completely untouched because thats just physics, transformers cant distinguish between normal frequency and harmonics on the differential voltage. the sola CVT im testing is specifically designed to address this through ferroresonant core saturation which physically absorbs some harmonic energy rather than just transferring it. but even the sola has limitations, at exactly 180hz which is the dominant motor harmonic produced by motors, the sola actually generates its own 180hz through core saturation simultaneously (which may cause this device to backfire and worsen my gameplay). low order harmonics are the ones motors produce (60hz -> 600hz). the truest solution is probably a power regenerator (while using my tripp lite) because it converts incoming ac to dc first which unconditionally destroys every harmonic at every frequency regardless of what motor is running in my house, then rebuilds a completely new clean sine wave from scratch internally. unlike a UPS or an inverter which have advertized THD%'s of 3-5%, a very expensive power regenerator are designed to have THD%s anywhere from 0.1% - 0.5% THD. in theory this should be better than the cleanest of power outlets at fixed locations, brands like; PS Audio, PurePower APS, and ExactPower have reliable tested products worth thousands of dollars that are capable of doing this. I believe harmonics is my final problem and not impedance, because adding the tripp lite to my setup would have made things worse, not better if impedance was the bigger/major problem. a regenerator, an isolation transformer and ethernet isolation would be in theory the ideal setup to deal with common & differential mode noise, AKA conducted EMI. radiated EMI may play a factor but the improvement i had from the tripp lite and the ability i have of inducing input lag ingame reliably by turning on the laundry machines, whilst using the tripp lite tells me its most likely mostly conducted interference.

there is lots of interesting stuff in here but please use paragraphs.

It is very hard to read and comprehend the way you put it, like a big chunk of info without breathing room...
