If you like science so much can you please respond to somebody in the thread who claim that they are bothered with reflections? So that you move discussion somewhere instead of circling around back to the basic claim ("glossy is perfect") which is not important (there is no point in image being perfect if there is mirror placed on top of it).Supermodel_Evelynn wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026, 09:28It is also similar to religion in a sane world, nobody would just willingly believe something unless it is backed by science.
And this is what the matte vs glossy debate is about, people who believe matte is superior are like religious zealots, they do not care about facts or science.
Why they still make matte coatings on modern displays

Every single iMAC and Macbook etc ever made has always been Glossy and yet people use it just fine.betonKruglosuTotchno wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026, 06:43If you like science so much can you please respond to somebody in the thread who claim that they are bothered with reflections? I firmly believe people who complain about reflection are just making shit up. I used glossy monitors in bright rooms open windows etc and it's never been an issue because your eyes get adjusted to it quickly.
Matte is identical to Vaseline smeared shit all over your monitor you wouldn't willingly do that to your smartphone would you? just drop it into the toilet out of spite then why do it to your monitor.

Ah yes, matte is so bad that it's been the gold standard for every LCD monitor for the past 20 years and no one in general ever complained about itSupermodel_Evelynn wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026, 14:29Every single iMAC and Macbook etc ever made has always been Glossy and yet people use it just fine.betonKruglosuTotchno wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026, 06:43If you like science so much can you please respond to somebody in the thread who claim that they are bothered with reflections? Re: Why they still make matte coatings on modern displays
^ That's like saying most console gamers have been using 30 HZ and playing at average 21 FPS for the past 30 years and never complained about it so why would we even need anything higher than 20 FPS?
It's also like saying most people in 70's worked in closed rooms with cigarette smokes and generally never complained about it, or most people voted for an orange Pedophile who couldn't stop talking about how he wanted to bang his hot 15 year old daughter and her hot friends.
Or that most people drove without seat belts or rode bikes without helmets for decades and never complained about it.
Just because people don't complain about something doesn't make it right or acceptable, look at CRT vs LCD it's not that people want these shitty LCD for gaming it's that they don't have a choice they don't have power to change any of it.

Are you bringing up limitation of fruit company which stands out in terms of all the artificial limitations it imposes on it's users? As a proof of what is good and what is not?Supermodel_Evelynn wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026, 14:29Every single iMAC and Macbook etc ever made has always been Glossy and yet people use it just fine.
You are not even trying.
And I literally asked you about reflections, not fruit company. You are officially prohibited from ever mentioning science.

I get the point you're trying to make with things that shouldn't be normalised but my point was that if matte screens were that bad, people in general or gamers would have talked about wanting glossy displays, and no one did.Supermodel_Evelynn wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026, 15:01It's also like saying most people in 70's worked in closed rooms with cigarette smokes and generally never complained about it
That was a good laugh though using such extreme irrelevant analogies. Thank you.

What's the process? I'd remove it off my screen if it's possible
