I’ve posted this question to Reddit as well, but figured one of you fine folks may can help me out.
I currently have a 180 hz MSI G274QPF E2, and have been using the variable refresh rate function on it paired with Nvidia G-Sync compatibility in order to have tear free gaming. On its own, this works incredibly well and I’ve been very happy with the monitor. I’ve noticed that anytime I try and stream something via Discord, I get a noticeable spike in input lag. This spike does not happen if I disable VRR/GSync/Vsync.
Is this something that can be fixed, or is this simply a result of the way discord interacts with the way my monitor handles VRR? Right now, I’ve disabled any kind of sync which has great response, but (obviously) some slight screen tearing.
My current settings when using VRR: VRR: On (monitor settings) | GSync compatibility: Windowed + Fullscreen (NVCP)| Vsync: On (NVCP)| FPS limiter set at 171 fps (NVCP)|
Anyone have any clues to this? I’ve tried these fixes:
-Running discord as admin
-Disabling GPU hardware acceleration in discord
-Disabling/Enabling DLL injection in discord
-Changing power management for discord via windows settings
-A myriad of other Hail Marys, however I’m open o more lol
PC specs:
Nvidia RTX 4070 Super
Ryzen 7 7800X3D
32 GB Toughram DDR5
2 TB NVMe M. 2 SSD
Input delay spike when streaming to discord with Gsync active and borderless window
