Unfixable problem

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

Unfixable problem

Post by Goddamn124 » 26 Jun 2026, 01:45

This week I went to a pc cafe and tried out their ps5 and pc with the peripherals they already had and still had the problem. Who has already done this and has come close to solving this problem or solved it? Is it the body? I’ve seen older posts talk about this. Idk what it can be anymore. :?:

I'm not going to promote my stuff here directly but yes I fixed it with my custom Windows.

I’m not going to comment on your custom OS and whether or not it does what you claim. I just feel like you’re missing the point here though; 99% of pros and/or casuals run on a stock bloated Windows installation. The real solution here is understanding why or what is causing these issues to appear for some people on similar or identical builds.

I’m under the assumption most people can’t perceive latency at the levels we all do.

People can't even have common way to figure out if they have same problem, only their feels and recordings that can be symptoms of multiple issues, yet some people say they fixed "it", whatever they think "it" is, while others say they didn't, while they don't know either if they are even talking about same thing.

Guys like that really surprise me! Just like Hyet, I decided not to publicize how I solved this problem! I solved the problem! I figured it out! You, on the other hand, just advertised your build! Just think about it—a player customizing Windows? It’s absurd to think a gamer would customize Windows to their liking on a major event! They wouldn’t even let him near the PC! Absurd, nonsense. If it were that simple, we wouldn’t have been stuck here for 17 years—that’s how long these problems have been going on. It seems to me that everything was fine for you from the start; your PC just gave out!
I didn't stay on the sidelines either—I basically abused my SSD, which is down to 6% health. I've tried quite a few builds, from stock setups to custom builds, and the cherry on top was a Chinese corporate version of Windows that you just won't find online with proper updates—and I mean updates that actually work!

Before you start tinkering with anything, just take a moment to think about what others are saying. Think about it yourself: we play poorly during the day but fine at night, and sometimes we feel like we’re better players—starting with grounding, running new power lines and outlets, cutting off the power to the house, various internet configurations like blocking and amnesia—we’ve tried a whole lot of things—all the way up to transformers, mysterious circuits, and custom power supplies on different PC setups. So far, no one knows what the problem is. Maybe it’s in Windows—specifically, the Meltdown and Spectre patches on new processors still work even if you disable them! Maybe it’s an electrical issue—if so, unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about it here. Or perhaps it’s something hardware-related, like RAM, where BIOS glitches might also be a factor. Unfortunately, no one knows yet, but we’re trying everything that makes logical sense and anything we stumble upon by chance. It’s been 17 years of this problem!

I get some of these comments and I agree that we might as well be talking about different issues. I for one had issues with floaty mouse and input lag and it seemed clear that it was due to Windows having more bloat added and bad choices like a fixed 10 MHz QPC timer so I decided to unmake everything I could. Unfortunately the less input lag you want, the more you have to strip so many functions along with some games don't work.
