Possibly! I wouldn’t be surprised if more manufacturers did the same.
I also remember Alienware automatically installing the monitor software and then reinstalling itself whenever deleted. This was with the AW2521H released back in 2020. I don't recall it having ads tho.

If windows was set to not install drivers automatically, AW2521H dell monitor driver was the only thing got installed (and by user ofc).
