The XL2730Z is interesting.

Doesnt seem to have gsync or freesync. Just some marketing bullshit regarding HZ switching in monitor menu instead of windows control panel.
Also, stuff like "2w speakers", "12million:1 contrast ratio for better colors" and "1ms GREY to GREY" makes me think violent thoughts towards Benq.

But its 1440p, 27", and has some kind of motion blur reduction thing. I guess a black frame insertion? Making it a fake 288hz? Perma on?
Dunno. Its not for me, but some might find that very interesting i think.

They say that it supports 'adaptive sync functIon,' which I understand is a precursor to FreeSync

Does seem to be AMD endorsed for FreeSync: http://www.overclock3d.net/articles/gpu ... displays/1

Will be interesting to see if implementing the specification adds any price to the monitor, and hear some impressions from people at CES.

If that's an *8 bit* panel, I'm definitely grabbing one.
(however can someone who has contact with Benq ask them if this monitor will respond to VT tweaks to improve the blur reduction crosstalk?)
Of course running a monitor out of specification (VT tweaks) is fully unsupported by Benq so no technical support for that (like overclocking cpus or video cards). But hey we're overclocking monitors :)

Some article claimed that's an IPS...DEFINITELY NOT an IPS..can't use strobing on IPS's yet.
Someone send one over to Masterotaku or Chief so they can tell us if VT tweaks work with them.
(All the other panels are 1080p and used similar timings, including the 2720Z despite it being 27". It will be VERY interesting to see if VT tweaks work with this panel and which ones do).

The other gsync IPS monitor announced does NOT have ULMB (the gsync module hardware is capable of it but its disabled); IPS displays are not fast enough for strobing.

I wonder if Benq's gonna release a xl27xxg version with gsync and 1440p with the 2 modes (classic/gsync) or are they going with freesync ? ( still have a feeling they're gonna make a gsync version since they already made the xl2420g so why not )
Also no ips 144hz from benq ? does anyone know anything about that ?
