XL2411Z - How to set up VT 1500

Post by drakefive55 » 24 Aug 2015, 09:38

I've just got a XL2411Z and I'm trying to set up VT 1500. I had a 2430T before this and to set 1500 VT all I had to do was go in to nvidia settings and create a custom resolution and change total vertical pixels to 1500 - If I do this on the 2411z I just get a black screen - Am I doing some thing wrong

set 120hz then create custom resolution

I had to open up the blur busters tool and then close it again and then I could set it fine in the nvidia control panel - Any one know why the blur busters tool has to be run first

Also what's the difference between 1500 and 1502 - Which one should I use

How do you guys have blur busters strobe utility set up

I was watching a video on youtube which said not to go over 1.5 persistence but I found the screen very dark on 1.5 - I saw another video which said to use 2.0 persistence and the screen is much better - Will 2.0 cause any issues

I don't use the Nvidia utility.
The problem I've seen is that the Nvidia control panel sometimes uses GPU scaling, which means it isn't using custom resolutions at all, but as I said, I do NOT use the Nvidia utility because I have an *AMD* card.

And I'm willing to bet $500 US dollars that you did NOT apply the Nvidia pixel clock patcher, did you?

I use the ToastyX Custom resolution utility.

To create a 100hz and 120hz VT 1500 custom resolution in toastyX CRU:
Add detailed resolution
1920x1080
front porch 48 pixels 3 lines
Sync width 32 pixels 5 lines.
Horizontal total 2080
Vertical total 1500.

1) 100hz
2) 120hz.
Both values work for both.

I personally would recommend 125hz instead of 120hz because of full sync with 500hz or 1000hz mice polling rates (125x4=500, 125x8=1000, this will create a SMOOTHER image).

For 125hz, you may need VT 1498 instead of VT 1500 if you encounter strange strobing errors (pulsating screen, stuttering movement every half second, etc).

OVER DVI: YOU MUST APPLY THE NVIDIA (or AMD) PIXEL CLOCK PATCHER.
You most likely FORGOT to apply this.

over displayport: not necessary. XL2411Z does not have DP.

I did not apply the Nvidia pixel clock patcher - No idea where to get it from

But I managed to apply a VT of 1500 and it seems fine (I am getting a lot of ghosting in this though http://www.testufo.com/#test=ghosting - the bottom image almost has 3 layers but maybe this is just the monitor) Do I need the nvidia pixel clock patcher - I didn't see it in any of the guides

the pixel clock patcher is mentioned in the how-to in the guide on the main website!! like at the beginning!!! How do you say you never saw it?

I followed a guide on youtube not on here

I did apply the nvidia pixel clock patcher afterwards but I don't think I needed it as I was able to set VT tweak in the nvidia control panel

I don't know why their is so much ghosting on this monitor on the UFO ghosting - It gets worse when blur reduction is on

Does anyone else get a lot of ghosting on this http://www.testufo.com/#test=ghosting - Mainly the bottom one I can see up to 3 layers
