Motion Blur Reduction monitor buying suggestion?

Post by refinedanarchy » 09 Apr 2019, 19:34

After returning the horribly blurry Acer XFA240, I am deciding between the BenQ Zowie XL2411P ($250 new on Amazon and I can control the strobing using the utility by blur busters), the brand new LG 24GL600F-B (this one have '1ms motion blur reduction' but I am not sure about how customizable it is) and the last one is the Asus MG248QR (I am not sure about this either cuz most of the results I got from google is about the non 'R' version but it is refurbished for only $190 on Newegg). Basically the best bang for the buck option possible. I only play fps games like paladins, csgo, tf2 and other high performance games. One last thing, my system run at an avg of 120fps in all these games but a 1% low of 80fps. Oh and I don't give a crap about colors, I already have an IPS monitor that I'll use for watching videos. Or if you think any of these aren't good, please recommend any alternatives.

The modern LG blur reduction is not customizable afaik, on my LG 27GK750F (240Hz) it's just an on/off switch and you can do adjustments by adjusting the blanking intervals and/or settings like brightness and contrast. In my opinion the 27GK750F is one of the very few monitors that can (FINALLY!) match the motion clarity of a 150Hz fast phosphor CRT.. although that's a monitor entirely out of your budget, and wouldn't likely be too great for you, considering your in-game FPS.

well I think 144hz is enough and I plan to upgrade my pc in the next 2-3 years. I have a GTX 1050 Ti, the main bottleneck is the CPU. Unless going for 240hz is a worthwhile investment.

Well if you can find the LG 27GK750F for $280, that's really great, since it's one of the few monitors that can strobe at 240Hz. I really love my 27GK750F, even without strobing, there's a frame-skipping bug atm but there's a work-around available, and it will likely be fixed in a firmware update.

the problem is that monitor lowest refresh rate for strobing is 120hz and I heard that it does have a lot of strobe crosstalk at that even with consistent fps. My pc can't reach no where close except games like Minecraft (which i rarely play)
