not so much with the IPS representation of RLCScontender as it shows usual UFO blur.

You just confirmed my thoughts about this whole TN vs IPS battle.
Arent you the guy who purchased the acer predator xb253q and i proved that u got scammed by their 0.5ms or 1 ms claims by showing that my 4ms viewsonic nano was sharper than your 0.5ms and 1 ms 240hz acer?

Yup, that was you.

A sucker is born every day. Thanks to this website, im able to show everyone the truth. Whether they like it or not, doesnt change the truth

I am the guy who bought the ACER XB253Q screen, I even asked you a question, a piece of advice
asking you if there is a difference in play between my Acer and the MSI, because if this is the case I will return my ACER and buy the MSI

But, you prefer to spend your time talking badly to people and accusing them because you are frustrated in your life
I'm still waiting for an answer :)

Your TN is not even faster than my gatekeeper viewsonic elite xg270qg.
here's a pursuit camera picture of the video I posted. In pursuit videos, people can just cherry pick the worst part. But my pursuit camera is the most accurate since i got it DIRECTLY straight from the monitor myself.

Image

This variable overdrive enabled(the g-sync chip will automatically choose the fastest overdrive with the least ghosting)

phpBB [video]
Hate to break it to you but yours looks far worse than his TN panel. Also you guys need to stop doing the silly 3 strip UFO test and start doing the fullscreen crosstalk one. Also you should tone down that attitude of yours, I'm pretty sure the site's founder/admin already warned you about that.
LOL no its not. The UFO tests don't lie bud. Here's another example of a 1ms 144hz TN monitor showing more noticeable crosstalk/smearing than the viewsonic elite xg270qg vs LG 24GM79G-B

is that "blue" that i'm seeing or green on the background? and is that grapefruit red or red? jeeez, i din't know colors were that bad. I'm sure the viewing angles will look like doodoo when kicking back or looking from the side, anyway that's beside the poitn.

the results are in folks

This dude's almighty TN vs the fastest 1440p IPS monitor. What would you buy?

AND NO, i didn't cherry pick anything. I will post multiple photos to be sure.

Viewsonic elite xg270qg vs 1ms TN monitor at $79.99 flea market

Image

1ms TN monitor. That looks like crosstalk...didn't know TN monitors had crosstalk.

Image

Here's another picture if in case someone brings up the "bbbut ur just cherry picKing bro"' argument

Image

So nope, not even going to bother posting the MSI because evidently, your tn's "3x way clearer" argumente falls flat and i'm sure most people would agree with me when i showed everybody the side by side photos. .

I will only compare the MSI with a contender that is worthy of being compared to.
that is without variable overdrive on the viewsonic nano monitor. And the UFO test is STILL more sharp than his 144hz 1ms TN monitor. LG 24GM79G-B

You guys are missing my underlying point. I'm not ARGUIING that IPS is faster than TN, i'm arguing that the differences between the fastest TN vs the fastest IPS monitors are so negligible that it's simply not WORTH investeing in a TN monitor because the fastest IPS monitor can easily do the job the TN is known for without the monitor looking like a cat pissed on it (bad color uniformity), or looks like doo doo or have any bad color shifts if the monitor isn't directly in front of you on a PERFECT angle(bad viewing angles), Or even if the TN is in front of you, you will see distortion in the corners because of the cheap technology.

btw, the ppl using the price argument is false. The MSI optix mag251rx(the best 240hz IPS right now) is only $360, while a typical high end TN monitor is $500-$700
Dude stop doing it, why you trying to make IPS looks better than TN?

Here is real picture of my 144hz TN, which I already made before.

I will not let you posting false information about it, i can't ignore this post.

So here we go again:
That how looks my 144hz TN, 5ms response time, 8ms input lag monitor, the motion blur is pretty clear compare to your 165hz IPS, which is normal, because ips can't be SHARPER than TN (not talking about speed, because as you can see my tn is 5ms, and I believe your viewsonic much faster)
Image

Here is real comparasion:
Image

Still I don't know why you trying to compare my old TN vs your old IPS, while this topic is about 240hz TN and which might be better than this, and obv its not IPS, maybe the latest BenQ, for sure, but Im not gonna pay 2x price than this acer XF252QX cost.

As I said i have behind me the VG279QM and i put it next to this acer, and acer smoke's it easy with motion blur.

But if you wanna compare it using same camera, both video are mine, here, take a look again:

ASUS 240HZ IPS, 60 OD, VG259QM:
https://youtu.be/GLjBVT5PgVE

Acer Nitro XF252Q without even Motion blur:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaLiVhGjBgs

Look how sharp are the ufo's, thats what im talking about
That's because you shouldn't use OD60 at 240hz, according to a5hun:
OD20: 60-115hz
OD60: 115-140
OD80: 140+
OD60 is too low, OD80 is the sweet spot for both 240 and 280hz.

already proved my lowly 165hz ips monitor is faster than yuor TN

the UFO tests on the 2nd and 3rd post proved it. It's sharper

I do'nt need to repeat myself. Hundreds of people view this site for information. The underlying point iw as trying to make is that the differences in TN vs IPS is negligible. i'm not ARGUING that TN is faster than IPS

anyway, i'm glad yuo've cut down on your condescending yet disrespectful remarks. but sadly, u don't really have an argument. There's just NO reason to buy Tn if the fastest IPS monitor can easily do its job while keeping accurate colors/viewing angles.

this guy used a defective vg259qm. when I had my asus, at 80 ovedrive i had ZERO problems. (he has to use 60 overdrive which isn't even the optimal overdrive setting for it anyway) and compared to his TN ,then proceeds to exaggerate "2g259qm is too blurry, tn is faster, it's less blurry". yes folks, forii used VG259qm's 60 overdrive (the non optimal ovedrive) to jump into these conclusions.

yet when i owned the asus, i saw zero overshoot./blurriness/etc at 240hz on 80 overdrive. Thta's WITH the UFO tests and IN actual gameplay. Again, everyone's perception is different, but just because ONE guy says it doesn't mean it's true. i've tested every 240hz monitor, I KNOW these differences in the back of my head. I have photos to prove it and i have a $400 oscilloscope to measure it.

but dude said his 144hz TN is 3x clearer than a 280hz asus yet my lowly 165hz IPS monitor looked sharper than his 144hz tn, so how he got his "3x clearer" argument, i have NO clue.

Well, thats your thought. And I got mine. But I got the eyes and other ppl got also eyes and i think they will see difference same as me. I clearly see the ufo is more clean/sharp/visible compare to any IPS.

At least im not only the one who clearly see difference that TN is much sharper and better compare to any IPS.
The only advantage of IPS is lower input lag (asus) and the colors.
Thats it.

I have tested VG279QM and overdrive 80 was fine (not defective like vg259QM) and still it was not so sharp vs this acer (240Hz TN)

Dude i have it next to me, both, and i Clearly see difference. You will not proov its more sharper, because its impossible. IPS is IPS, TN is TN. TN will be always sharper, even 240hz IPS is not sharper than 240Hz TN. Which I proofed. and which is obvious.

if you didn't make any assertions about IPS, i wouldn't even have to post in this th read. But you did and in my opinion, that is false information

the same way, yuo claimed that your 144hz 5ms tn was 3x clearer than a 280hz ips monitor or a 165hz ips monitor even though the photos that I provided says otherwise, that your 144hz TN isn't even REMOTELy 3x clearer than a lowly 165hz IPS(my 165hz ips was clearly more sharp on the UFO test).

Well for me mine 144hz TN was cleaner than your 165hz. Only a little bit, but still cleaner, cuz its TN, thats obvious
Ppl got eyes, the pictures are here:

And end of topic.

There is no 240hz IPS who will be cleaner than new 240hz TN . That's a fact. I posted videos at the begining as a proov, if you can't proof im false, just get out of here. Because we are talking about 240hz and you still back to your 165hz and mine 144hz, for no reason.

Let other ppl judge, if they can see difference 240hz TN vs 240hz IPS lool, even my mom told that the TN is cleaner on ufo test

MSI is 3ms, YOUR acer is 4.5ms(normal overive).I'm fairly certain you will see less motion blur on fast moving objects since 4ms and 3ms is somewhat noticeable.

i'm just mad at the fact that the vietnamese company acer botched their overdrive tuning on extreme for the acer. it gave a lot of overshoot, yet the MSI's fastest overdrive tuning at 240hz showed little to no ghosting. Yes it's the same AHVA, the same with thte alienware aw2521hf, the overdrive tuning is botched and u need adaptive sync to make it workable. Whereas with the MSI, u don't need adaptive sync (aka, added input lag) and its fastest overdrive setting will still show little to no overshoot at 240hz

if i were u, i would. If you intend to keep a purchase for the next 3-4. there's NO reason to have the best right now. Thten again, that's just my opinion.

keep in mind, the predator hasn't been tested on the lower refresh rates. at 144hz or 60hz, so if the predator has faster g2g on those. In my opinion, had acer not botch the "extreme" overdrive, or there was a middle ground overdrive setting from normal overdrive to extreme, it would've been great and possibly faster than the MSi. But sadly, extreme overdrive on the acer has too much overshoot, the MSI just has better overdrive tuning.

btw they are both the same panel. But the FASTEST overdrive for each are different. One has enormous overshoot, the other(MSI) does not. Be mindful of quality control. Acer vietnam isn't axactly known for "quality" and there have been complaints about stuck pixels after a few weeks of usage
