If anyone has questions about the XB253Q GX, feel free to ask. I am keeping the panel that I received.
Hello

Do u know about the input lag ? In my country the AG251FZ2 have lowest price and 23ms (absolute input lag).
I just want to play CS:GO competitive, dont realy care about IPS panels, just want the fastest.
Fastest? Here you go! Check out the lag section. TFT is my go to for monitor reviews. https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/ac ... 3x.htm#lag

I calibrated mine today. As I suspected initially, there was far too much green with the default settings. I actually left the "black boost" at its default 5 and calibrated it to 2.2 gamma. The difference is 2.2 ended up being slightly darker than the default settings. I did remove the extra sharp setting, which I would recommend to anyone that buys this monitor. The default setting is far too sharp. I calibrated to 6500K, which required that I set the green gain to 46 and the blue gain to 49. After calibration, it looks great! This is on par with the PG279Q that I own, as far as colors go, but the resolution is lower (of course).

I tried turning on HDR and it was as expected. It is basically "dynamic contrast" which is completely useless. It basically adjusts the brightness of the WHOLE screen based on what is being displayed. Again, completely worthless. When comparing this monitor to my previous PG258Q, the main differences that I notice is the XB253Q GX has MUCH better colors and the PG258Q a tad bit less motion blur. Basically, it's a trade off between significantly better colors and viewing angles, and barely better motion blur. The XB253Q GX is the better monitor.

EDIT: It also "feels" like the XB253Q GX has less input lag, but I would need hard data from a site like TFT Central to know for sure. I can feel a difference between the PG279Q and the PG258Q when it comes to input lag, with the PG279Q having lower lag. However, I can't really tell the difference with the XB253Q GX, which gives me the feeling that it probably falls somewhere in-between the PG279Q and PG258Q. Both of those monitors already have really low input lag, and so does the XB253Q GX.

Says a lot, considering the PG258Q runs 240hz tn panel. Does this XB253Q GX have VBR (or other blur reduction mode) and supports FreeSync? Are you using an AMD or Nvidia gpu with it?

I was wondering about XB253QGX vs AOC 24/27G2 input lag, is there any difference at all if I keep both of them at 144hz for example?

Really looking forward to some review of GX.

It has a back light strobe mode and I have Nvidia. The "Gsync compatible" works REALLY well, I can't tell the difference between this and the native Gsync module on the PG258Q. Matter fact, with my PG258Q I have the occasional line down the middle issue that plagued Gsync monitors of that time (and they never released a firmware to fix the PG258Q). I assume that Freesync would also work, as the setting in the monitor states "adaptive sync", the generic term that tells me it will work with both. Really, the main differences that I am noticing are the better colors and viewing angles on the XB253Q GX. It really feels like I just swapped a PG258Q for a model with better color and viewing angles, which is what I was looking for.

One problem with this monitor so far for me. The displayport will not work in my bios without enabling CSM (compatibility mode) in the bios. HDMI works fine though. Not sure why this is, but it is a negative for me. All of my previous Asus monitors worked fine in UEFI mode and displayport. I don't think it will be a big issue, as HDMI transmits the 240Hz 1920x1080 signal just fine. I would rather be using displayport though. When I tried it in legacy mode (CSM enabled), my sound card had issues with not initializing at boot.

I guess this is sort of a positive for people wanting to use HDMI with this monitor. HDMI is working with all of the full features of the monitor, unlike the PG258Q that did not run at 240Hz through HDMI.

EDIT: I just found out that HDMI on this monitor does not work with Gsync... Frustrating. This might end up being the catalyst that ends up in a refund.

Thanks for reply. If this monitor support FreeSync, I'm in for one!

Why would you not want to have CSM in BIOS/UEFI?

If DP works fine, why would you want the HDMI G-sync support??

Just a heads up for anybody reading this, I've got the Nitro XV253QX and BIOS is working just fine over displayport, CSM disabled. Motherboard is MSI B450 A Pro.
