Hi guys! New here so please take it easy on me lol. So I recently built my new rig for streaming/gaming, here are the specs:
Intel i7-9700K 3.6 GHz running at 4.6 GHz
Corsair DDR4-3200 16GB
MSI GeForce RTX 2080
So I've been spending days looking up which monitor I should buy for my rig. I plan on playing competitive Valorant and I get 240+ fps. This PC is mainly for gaming but I also do watch content on it as well. Here is the list of monitors I have narrowed down my decision to:
Acer Predator XB273X
Asus TUF Gaming VG279QM
Viewsonic XG270
Dell Alienware AW2720HF
Which one out of these 4 would you choose in my shoes and why? Just wanted some opinions from the best monitor forum I can find. Also not as important of a factor, but if someone could tell me which one of these monitors is best suited for the PS4, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks in advance, can't wait to hear from you guys!
Can't decide which 240Hz IPS monitor to buy, need opinions!

I would never buy a 27 inch monitor at 1920x1080. The pixel density of 24.5 inch monitors at 1920x1080 is bad enough and BARELY acceptable. At 24.5 inches, it is basically a trade off, less resolution and a higher refresh rate. At 27 inches, you basically lose the value of the trade off.

so I should go with the VG269QM or the MSI MAG251RX in your opinion?STOPchris wrote: ↑10 Jun 2020, 12:03I would never buy a 27 inch monitor at 1920x1080. I just bought a XB253Q, so I can only speak to that monitor. It is a 24.5 inch, 240Hz, IPS monitor with VERY low input lag. I replaced a PG258Q and the XB253Q GX has noticeably lower input lag. It looks great thanks to the IPS and very good quality control (no pixel issues and only slight IPS glow). I've been buying monitors for almost 20 years now and the XB253Q GX is one of the best that I've owned.WayUpGaming wrote: ↑10 Jun 2020, 15:21so I should go with the VG269QM or the MSI MAG251RX in your opinion?STOPchris wrote: ↑10 Jun 2020, 12:03I would never buy a 27 inch monitor at 1920x1080. EDIT: Also, don't be turned off by the "Gsync Compatibility" instead of a module, there is no noticeable difference whatsoever with the XB253Q GX.
I'm sure that other 24.5 inch 240Hz IPS monitors are going to be similar, but I would read up on some reviews and compare input lag and blur. I would also ask around about the quality control of any monitor you do buy, some manufactures have worse QC than others.
Also, I wouldn't even consider the OC on a monitor as a selling point, it is NOT guaranteed.
