this is just unfair... This completes my 240hz IPS monitor tests. I only have 1 more to do and that isn't until it comes out(the 360hz alienware aw2521h ). Will put up a double review(VG259qm and xb273 x) with hard numbers soon.

How and why nobody purchased this monitor is beyond me. The response times, i can 100% confirm it's FASTER than the MSI MAG251rx with ZERO(yes 0% overshoot). 2" visual acuity difference between 24.5 1080p vs 27" 1080p is negligible. All i have to do is sit 2 inches further and i get the same exact sharpness as a 24.5" 1080p monitor.

You gotta see this to believe it. Only a very small % of TN are faster than this.

i'm definitely keeping this. The Acer predator XB273 x

Hmm this wasnt on my radar because everyone kept saying get Msi MAG251, XG270, or VG259QM, AND IT FALLS IN MY PRICE RANGE. looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this monitor in terms of color accuracy, and motion/ghosting at lower fps like 144. also is it a true G sync? does it have strobing?

How does the acer xb273x compare to the Mag251rx to 60hz console gaming? Which is better for ps5/Xbox series x? Which has less input lag? Looking forward to your comparisons!

pretty sure the acer wins when it comes to console gaming cause its native g-sync HDMI-VRR with low input lag

acer has negligible monitor delay, as with every xv3/xb3 model. Asus/Aw/msi has roughly 0.4--->0.6 added display lag above the acer monitors. The nitro a very slow 240hz ips has one of the lowest latencies. Im sure my g sync monitor wont be any diffierentt, its literally the same panel(they were also released the same time)

They did botch the od tuning on the nitro xv273x. Whereas the g sync module was inspected for the fastest response time with the least overshoot. Hence why g sync module is important, you know u are getting a quality panel.

what about the smaller acer, the xb253q gx? Haven't really seen any in depth review yet.

*****Breaking NEWS*****

My replacement acer predator xb273 x came today. My previous one was badly tuned(it wasn't tuned at all, it was stuck at the Acer nitro XV273x OD tuning. (acer rep from canada informed me via youtube and had me send it in for a replacement.

Image

This is the one they sent me and, the TUNING is excellent. This predator JUMPS a lot of monitors it should be in the very top. I will use two oscilloscopes for this because my cheaper digital oscilloscope is can't give me consistent rise/fall times.

I will do a double review coming up with the vg259qm and the acer predator xb273x since they arrived relatively close to each other. And how they fare against the beast MSI MAG251rx.

but yes, these THREE(FOUR if you count the vg279qm) are the fastest 240hz(280hz on the asus) IPS monitors.

Peak performance

1. Asus TUF VG259qm
2. Asus TUF VG279qm
3. MSI Optix MAG251rx
4. Acer predator xb273x
5. Dell Alienware AW2521HF

awesome comparisons! Honestly, you should get a Benq XL2746s or XL2546s to compare the fastest TN vs fastest IPS. Its still unclear how the best TN performs against the best IPS.

I just preordered today the vg259qm it arrives in 3 weeks, the xb273x is in stock I could cancel my order and choose the Predator

So just for competitive gaming with hitting stable 240 hz which one of these monitors would you choose and why?

The predator xb273 x would kill those TN. This monitor is legit under 3ms response time with 0% overshoot. My oscilloscope readings are 2.5-2.6ms g2g on a 10-90% rise/fall readings.

Variable overdrive thx to the g sync module is the main reason why it can go slightly faster than the maximum allowed for freesync monitor at 3ms before inverse ghosting dominates. Only the omen x 27, nitro xf252q, and omen x25f have a lower resonse time. But keep in mind, those have like 4-7% overshoot so be mindful of that. The input lag however isnt even close. With native g sync, my inputs are instantaneous. Its so low that playing online feels the same as offline.

At 60hz? Hahaha unlike the omen x 25f where the input lag gets horrendous. The xb3 predator modules are excellent at 60hz when it comes to input lag. The input lag ive experienced is even lower than the msi and alienware at 60hz and keeps the 2.6 ms g2g thx to the fine tuned g sync hardware scaler.

Omfg smash ultimate online is playable again!!

phpBB [video]

If the omen x 25f goes head to head with the g sync predator xb273x, thanks to the ridiculously low input lag, the omen would get destroyed presuming of course their skill levels are similar or equal.

Heres a point of reference. Guess who's the #1 ranked input lag monitor on rtings? Its freesync cousin of the xb273x the acer nitro xv273 x. The major diff is, with g sync hardware, input lag is instantaneous and inp7t lag at 60hz is lower than any monitor ive ever tested in my entire life.

Here's a point of reference how much of a disadvantage the fastest TN monitor has over the acer predator xb273x, the MSI MAG251rx, and the Dell Alienware aw2521hf

Image

it has +1.30 more input lag and that's presuming the FPS is staying at 240hz. If it dips to say. 165hz, 144 hz, 60hz, etc it gets horrendous whereas the predator, as the FPS dips, the input lag generally remains fairly well since its negligible processing delays.

btw the acer nitro xv273x is the same exact panel as the acer predator xb273x. They came out at the same time except the native g-sync module has a faster response time and lower input lag(since it has a g-sync hardware scaler is TUNED and tested by nvidia to synchronize the fresh rate moreso than the GPU(freesync monitors), which then allows variable overdrive and instantaneous input lag.

basically, TN is beat. Good news for TN is that the fastest TN is still ahead in response times by about 0.4-0.5ms (the UFO tests on the omen x25f and the nitro xf252q are slightly better (not by much). I still see ghosting on the UFO's triple white tally marks on the predator but the omen x25f and the nitro xf252q doesn't have much ghosting on those 3 white tally marks.

but what good is a 0.4-0.5 g2g advantage when their INPUT LAG is a disadvantage? at 240hz, MPRT is already good enough as it is and those negligible differences in g2g response times won't really matter that much in my opinion as opposed to lower input lag

CANCEL YOUR PRE ORDER AND GET THE PREDATOR G-SYNC MODULE.

This monitor IS probably the best monitor i've ever tested in my entire life.

want to see sub 2.6ms response times with 0% overshoot and basically 0-1ms input lag?
