Hi, I have been using Asus VG279QM from March and several days ago gave try to Acer VG252QX as was mentioned before that Acer's have lowest input lag and also wanted to try 24.5 after 27.
Now will be my thoughts about experience, most of them connected with CS GO ( It will be subjective opinion, but probably interesting for somebody).
At first, I bought Asus VG279QM mainly for CS GO and really started to play on top of my skill I think, because with my old Asus VG248QE I was level 6 Faceit, but with VG279QM got level 9 playing solo, but I'm old for competetive gaming(31 years) and don't spend much time on it as I have work and many other tasks. But hope will be level 10 soon, with VG279QM I feel I can do it ))
About input latency: my opinion that panels have the same input latency, but monitor settings have slight impact on mouse feeling, you can not feel it in Windows, but I can find the difference in micro-moments playing CS GO, as for me Asus VG279QM has the lowest input lag with default settings(240hz and 60OD) and if you turn off the adaptive sync and set colors to normal(I use it with brightness and contrast 70 it's good for CS GO), mouse input feeling so fast and good as on CRT monitor, but any settings I tried with Acer VG252QX and situation the same, input lag is low, but not the same feeling as on Asus VG279QM, in micro-moments Asus VG279QM showed me better perfomance in competetive hard situations. I have really insane frags sometime with VG279QM, but not so often as with VG252QX.
Why I wanted to try 24.5? Cause during my job 27 little bit uncomfortable, but I can deal with it. What I found that for CS GO 27 better with my resolution 1024*768 with black bars, but if you play full screen probably 24.5 will be better as it's harder for me to control the game with 27 and full screen, but it's perfect with black bars and I can see better opponent's models than on the 24.5.
Over all I returned Acer VG252QX to the shop and refunded the money as for my goals VG279QM better choice. (Acer VG252QX only wins in terms of work as FullHD has more sharp image on 24.5, but it's not so awful on VG279QM also you can push back monitor as I did)
So my conclusion: if you play CS GO and using 4:3 black bars mode any 27 IPS 240hz will be better choice for better perfomance, but if you play on full display it's better to go for 24.5. I think all IPS 240hz new panels have the same input lag, difference may be connected with current monitor settings. As for me in terms of input lag VG279QM slightly better than Acer VG252QX also with my resolution I can also play better CS GO with VG279QM.
Asus VG279QM vs Acer VG252QX
Re: Asus VG279QM vs Acer VG252QX
I have the VG252QX.
How was the response time? Is it really that big of a difference?
Would you still recommend it? I have it rn and i really like it but i havent tested otherr monitors

Re: Asus VG279QM vs Acer VG252QX
I like Acer VG252QX, response time is the similar, input lag is the same on the defaults settings, but for me become hard to return on 24.5 as I can react faster in CS GO with 27, but my opinion for full display gaming and work 24.5 is better choice. Only one thing I didn't like with VG252QX - leg.
Addition about input lag: subjectively, but when in monitor settings I turned off adaptive sync(but anyway it's not working in CS GO on my settings, idk why it brings me slightly better experience, probably this option has some post-proccessing when it turned on) and set colors to normal on VG279QM I feel more lighter mouse moves, but it's very slight difference I think not everybody will feel it.
