This monitor was disappointment for me and I returned it.To be honest i come from 27" QHD 165Hz AHVA g-sync so maybe thats why i was disapointed.Image quality was worse (backlight bleed included) and refresh rate and response time jump was negliable for me.And also this MSI is pretty cheap build - stand have only height adjustment,RGB lightning is useless because brightness is too low (but display brightness was too high how funny),all included cables are a bit shorter then normal, even here they were saving..

Dang, sorry to hear that Karell88l. Weird too, because AHVA has less color and contrast qualities than a IPS, so unsure why "coming from that would cause disappointment". Maybe the 1440, but then again the 2extra inches kinda negates that.

Confusing, but thanks for the honest feedback. But for me, I ain't doing a AHVA ever. That said, you left out what exact model you're referring to.

All that said, I am indeed looking for another monitor already. I wanna upgrade, and willing to take a ms loss for a picture quality gain. Wanna do better than IPS and definitely not go backwards (TN, VA, AHVA, etc..) Also looking for more 4k. But its like nothing is on the market.

AHVA = AUO equivalent of IPS,this mag251 rx is AHVA too.I was unimpressed by image quality of MSI and I beliave it is because stronger matte display surface finish, while my aoc ag271qg is light matte or semi glossy which makes looks colors and blacks better, however MSI have probably slightly wider color gamut, but I still thinks that previous monitor looks better and yes resolution FHD on 24,5" is little bit more blurry then QHD on 27".

Yes this could be it. Thanks for sharing your info and experience.

But from what I've read, not all IPS = AVHA. And AVHA IPS panels suffer from less color accuracy due to having a better wider viewing angle. Anyway, not a big deal and I could be wrong. Either way, sounds like both of us are looking for a better quality picture - lol

Just to update:

It's been said many times that turning strobing/ULMB ON with this monitor makes it too dim, but that's not true. These past couple days I've been playing cod:MW with strobing and it's actually perfect, you don't need more brightness. It just takes a couple days to adapt (especially if you come from a super bright display) but even with a well lit room I feel it's completely fine. The added motion blur clarity is really worth it.

yup if the color profile says mag272 then you are currently USING the correct ICC profile. Be mindful that sometimes there are panel variances. Dont' tinker with anything other than brightness.

I pick 90 for gaming and 30 for general computer use

for contrast, 70 for general computer use and 74 for gaming(no higher).

if u have nvidia control panel, i suggest you increase the saturation when you game. It will give a beautiful vibrant color.
You can use Racing Mode in Gaming OSD, it boost the colors by itself, no need to use nvidia panel.

If it comes to CRU my Msi mag was using the 239,964Hz instead of 240Hz and I remember that I found somewhere that is good to use it a little bit less, so I think MSI already did the move. So I use this number instead of 240 and put it in Extensions blocks

if it comes to gaming osd settings, for me contrast above 70 is getting more yellowish than white.

For FPS Shooter I use FPS MODE if there is a lot of green grass etc, if not so much I use racing mode because it boosts the colors:

Totally agree. And good call. I actually like it. Its more accurate. I got it on, then went and put contrast up to 59, Image enhancement to "weak" and Pro mode HDR on. IMO this combo looks best.

Hi guys, I recently bought myself one.
I have a couple of questions, do you have the same?

1. In the bottom left part backlight shines through? (In this place, the monitor is as warm as possible, the rest of its parts are below body temperature.)
2. When switching HZ or switching to fullscreen (games like valorant), the monitor emits a SOUND.
3. I dont have 240 Hz by default (only 144 HZ in nvidia panel, but i can create with CRU and it works or create custom in nvidia panel but less than 240Hz), I tried OSD gaming 240 HZ button, but this did not appear.
4. Contrast increases the overall brightness of the monitor rather than controlling colors - or is it supposed to be?

Comparison to my old monitor (looks like one big flash  ):

Others more knowledgable than I may chime in and give you much better answers, but here are mine -

1 - I believe the backlight bleed is different for everyone (this is the part of the panel lottery if you wanna play it). My worse sector of it is in the upper right hand side. IMO, yours does seem extreme. If you are patient enough, you should play the lottery and keep trying.
2 - Mine does not emit a sound no matter what I do. Thats weird. (another reason to support doing the lottery)
3 - This is a deeper answer and to be done correctly, you need to follow the instructions posted in this thread earlier. They are kinda specific to this monitor if you wanna do it really right and be descriptively "native" resolution + 240hz under the "PC" part.
4 - I do notice the contrast doing as you said sorta. But if noticing closer, it is indeed doing contrast. Its not saturation, so yes, it will effect the appearance of brightness and darkness more than it will effect colors.

5 - And OMG I thought the MSI looked horrible as far as bloom and horrible blacks. WTF monitor is that other one so I can make sure to never trust the brand. lol That thing is worthy of a sledgehammer.

6 - (more of a joke than anything) - You should think about switching to bottled "Mexican Cokes" that are made with sugar like the original ones ! No high fructose corn syrup. They taste so much better.
