Also, would this work with 3dvision games?

Are you using 3D Vision 2 ? And if so, do you get any crosstalk ?

I am using 3D Vision 1 and get too much crosstalk for it to be usable ?

Found this video that show a difference between v1 and v2 :

Wondering if I need to buy the new version. ;)

Another good advice for good stereoscopic 3D quality on the Eizo FG2421 is to make sure it is warmed up -- so if it was sitting in a cold room & you just turn it on, give it an hour. The ghosting on the FG2421 mostly disappears when the LCD is warmed up. (VA panels including the FG2421, have a lot of ghosting when cold).

You may also need to configure your 3D glasses to left/right eyes.

The Eizo FG2421 + 3D Vision hack is much, much better than 3D Vision 1, though has slightly more crosstalk than 3D Vision 2.
However, the bonus is Turbo240 is brighter than LightBoost, with better colors, so that makes up for that.
Overall, it's competitive to 3D Vision 2 when you average it all out (better brightness/colors in exchange for ever slightly more crosstalk) as long as the LCD panel is warm.

Holy Crap, the only thing holding me back from buying another FG2421 was the lack of 3d support (I returned my first unit because it did the random turn off glitch)....I manly just want 2d motion blur free gaming but every once in a while I want 3d. So does the 3D Vision 2 kit work with this?

With the CRT mode, and a L/R eye swap, and after a 30-60min warmup of the FG2421 glass (to reduce ghosting = reduce crosstalk to vastly better than 3DVision 1 levels). It is almost as good as 3DVision 2 in crosstalk, except in certain very dark scenes which it then begins to have more crosstalk due to the slower dark-color transitions.

The EIZO FG2421 is still one of my favourites for strobed operation due to better colors and brightness in strobe mode. I do however, wish it had adjustable persistence like the BENQ Z-Series has (0.5ms-5.0ms adjustable for BENQ versus 2.3ms fixed for EIZO)

Im on the fence with getting another FG2421 or going with a BenQ XL2420Z, while I wait for the ROG swift. It seems like the XL2420z would have better resale value but it seems like it would be a similar "panel lottery" hassle as the Eizo due to the BenQ V1 & V2 firmware clusterfuk...

But I don't know if I am going to like the ROG Swift because I hated the TN panel on the Samsung 4k U28D590 and if the swifts TN is anything like that then I am gonna want to do three FG2421s in portrait / landscape mode for gaming, so getting an FG2421 now would give me a head start on that....if the Swifts TN panel is anything like the glossy & vibrant Samsung S23A750D displays then I am gonna want THREE swifts

I dunno, they say June for the Swift, but that does not seem realistic at this point given that they have not signed off on design yet, so manufacture and shipping should add another 2-3 months. I miss 3D and wanted something to play with while I wait....but I do hate crosstalk so maybe I should go with the BenQ now??? Arg....I have a 3D vision Kit 2 sitting here collecting dust :|

Always a tough decision with "Better Than 60Hz" technologies which have boomed recently in variety, plus tempting models that take a while to wait. Monitor upgrade cycles have certainly accelerated this decade, due to the recent surge of 120Hz+ improvements. Some of us are upgrading monitors a bit more often than GPUs (for the moment) due to this sudden exit from the "LCD Dark Ages" on these displays...

Currently, nothing beats the EIZO FG2421 in terms of overall strobed contrast ratio / color quality, if those are your priorities (and you can stand the quirks like gamma nonuniformities).

BENQ Z-Series are the best when it comes to minimal motion blur -- with the Blur Busters Strobe Utility, they are among the first LCDs to benchmark less than 1ms effective visible persistence -- but color quality will not likely compete against the discontinued Samsung as that was a cream of the crop TN. If that is your standard, you may be dissapointed in the BENQ -- it does not win awards in color quality, it would be chosen on the merits of being the cream of the crop in low input lag and low persistence (ability to get sharper motion than LightBoost 10%, fully competitive with CRT motion clarity). If motion blur elimination is your priority and you don't mind sacrificing brightness to get maximum clarity, the Z-series is hard to beat. I am hoping that the ASUS ROG series will get reasonably close to e-IPS quality, we will have to see.

If memory serves me well isn't there supposed to be a Blurbusters review of this monitor?

Hi everybody. I tried everything Donbane has written but i couldn't get it to work... Is there anybody else successfully using 3d vision 2 with this monitor? Does anybody have any suggestions?
I'm running windows 8.1, Nvidia 344.75 drivers, nvidia 3d vision 2 wireless glasses kit, DVI-D cable, 240Hz mode is on, CRT-Mode is on.
Thank you,

Fabio

I just realized my cable is a single link DVI-D, not DUAL. I will check with a dual in a couple of weeks and report the results. For now I just can say that it doesn't work with displayport and single link DVI-D.
