2021 best 1440p 240hz monitor

Post by nihil » 20 Feb 2021, 05:22

I have researched 1440p 240hz since last year and booked an eve spectrum monitor. They seem to use LG's KSF red phosphors for their panels, but claim to use some blur reduction technology to optimize them. Is it really possible? It also states that it will work with blur buster to provide more than 10 levels of overdrive, is that true? Or is it better to cancel this monitor?
I'm sorry for my bad English.

Yes, it has KSF phosphor.

For more information please read www.testufo.com/red-phosphor

It doesn't prevent motion blur reduction, it simply worsens the quality of motion blur reduction.

Also, KSF phosphor doesn't interfere with the operation of the monitor IF you aren't using motion blur reduction. These wide-gamut IPS panels are beautiful, no matter what monitor they're in -- these LG panels are among the better IPS LCDs as long as you aren't using motion blur reduction. For users who don't use strobing, these KSF-based panels been generally well regarded in other models (e.g. LG27GL850B or XG270QG). It's just annoying if you're using motion blur reduction.

NOTE: It's important to note there is no "Blur Busters Approved" logo forthcoming for any KSF-phosphor-based monitor panels since the red phosphor limits the quality thresholds attainable. Not the worst strobing I've seen, but not the best either, as it's bottlenecked by KSF.

That said, however, I am indeed an advisory role in making sure that they do overdrive & motion blur reduction properly. See forum post here.

So yes, it has a User Defined Overdrive slider, and yes, it does single-strobe 60 Hz.

Just be aware of the pros/cons and caveats/pitfalls, especially when buying crowdsourced projects like these.

Thank you for your reply. In 2021, can you expect panels with perfect overdrive from other manufacturers involved in the project?

I wonder if the slow phospher decay would make 60hz flicker more tolerable. shame it's red tho.
